Found the cause of my Sanctuary mod FPS issues...

Recommended Posts

Ok im gonna just paste what i wrote on my other thread asking about precobms etc...because the lag wasnt caused by precombines etc...

"

LOL just lol...

I dont even know how this is possible....

Remember when i said someone found stuff from sanctuary at cambridge ?

Well it was true...

I was looking at the mod through Fo4edit and noticed that in the worldspace there was a location not related to sanctuary...

It was Greentech at cambridge...So now that i knew the exact cell i went hunting ...and there they were...All most touching the surface (this is why i couldnt see them before )...there were 2 clusters ( yes clusters)..of all the stuff i had removed from sanctuary tightly packed into little packages with over 300 objects one inside the other.

Now im sure as are you that i couldnt possibly do that while editing (especially putting everything in one spot) and then magically transport everything to a specific cell under cambridge.

A) when i was modding sanctuary i didnt remove all that stuff in one or 2 sessions...I was moving around the location cell by cell .

B) a lot of this stuff was "persistent" (doors, gates, containers etc.)...

C) selecting anything would show links going way outside of the area (probably sanctuary)

The real issue ..

How do i get rid of that stuff ?

Editing anything in that cell keeps me linked to greentech...

I went and did batch Initially disabled and hidden from local map and then ran it through Fo4edit (autocleanup) but when i went back into the game all those persistent objects showed up in sanctuary.

Can anyone explain this insanity ?

Im sure this is the cause of the fps issues i have in that mod....but have no idea how to fix it...

Also note..

In my mind...im sure that im looking at 2 cells in one (or should i say objects from 2 cells)

because when i look at the problem cell that drops frames im also looking at the greentech cell that is probably loaded..

The same happens at Greentech ..and lag there is even worse..."

If anyone has any idea how to remove any reference of the unrelated cell and how to REALLY disable all those objects please tell me...

a long time ago - i encountered a similar issue - not objects - npc's.

ii i recall (its been a while), i think it was the original sim settelements mod. you could have visitors spawn and arrive in your settlements to give them a bit of life.

anyway - i was in the area around greentech and there they were - about 50 npc's generated by sim settlements, all just standing around. eventually some mirelurks spawned nearby and ended up attacking the npc's. it was truly bizzarre and it led me to believe that the game was now hosed.

there is some sort of relationship between sanctuary and the area around greentech. how/why is beyond me.

Gonna try something crazy...

Im going to link all that stuff to a object (random) with the keyword workshopstackeditemparent and then scap that object in game so that it takes all the garbage with it...that i saw Trosski do in a tutorial :P

Problem is that CK crashes when i try to do it to all the objects at once so im going to try to separate them and create scols out of the batches first :P

Forgot to mention that Fo4edit after the cleaning put all that sh!t under sanctuary again...

Lets just say that its so much stuff that in the batch window the scroll bar is tiny...

What does "hide" mean in this context ?

On the basis that "disable" already hides an object.

Disable doesnt hide it ....it renders it inactive...

Hide from local map wont allow it to load at all hence it wont take up any resources and when dealing with 1600+ objects like in this case...resources are the real issue...

Use FO4Edit to prune out the Greentech cell from the mod. That should revert that area to vanilla, removing all the extra junk.

Lol i would if i knew how to...

Do i simply remove ? or is there a specific way of doing it ?

By remove i mean the cell from my ESP's world data...
