SpartanModding
Old Forum but it does not hurt to give the right answer. So what you do is Find the SKSE_LOADER EXE and right click it, then you hit RUN AS ADMIN. this worked for me for whatever reason when nothing else worked. Hope this helped. Jakov123123
This is what worked for me. So you go to your installation folder which is in my case C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim and rename skse_loader.exe into SkyrimLauncher.exe and it should work. to be sure, make a backup of original SkyrimLauncher.exe. Hope it helps.

Strokend
Are you allowing automatic updates through steam? If you don't have the Official Skyrim Update patch then it won't work.
Valkasha
Sounds like you simply have a load order issue. Try running tes5edit and see if it comes up with an error on the right. That should give you an idea of a missing master .esp or .esm.
Eddy2NewYork
Yes the question is old but I had the same issue these days, and running the latest version of skse as administrator did not work for me. BUT, everything worked fine when I launched FIRST steam and THEN skse (as admin)... as it is actually written in the readme file. Hope this will help
Ismerila
I have the issue where, when I click to load it, it simply gives me an error. "Application load error P:0000065432"I've run it before without a single issue, Even tried to delete each mod in turn and I have nothing. Ran as admin, did everything I could. Normal skyrim still loads properly. But, on occasion, it will crash. Say if I fly to the throat of the world? There's a random patch of sky that makes me CTD, without any warning. It's very frustrating. Currently I'm going to try to re-install it, delete any mods that I don't feel like I need, and pray for the best.
malekithau
Hi all, Just reinstalled Skyrim on the weekend. Skyrim launches and runs properly from Steam however running from SKSE shortcut (as per Gophers excellent vid) on desktop only gets to dragon splashscreen and then CTD. Please note Steam is always running on my PC and auto updates on.Reinstalled Skyrim twice so far. Validated files multiple times after each. Run as administrator checked.SKSE lancher changed to Run as Administrator. Same result.Disabled all mods except patches, checked load order. Same result.Disabled all patches and left only standard ESM files. Same result. Deleted all mods and left only standard ESM files. Same result. No error report just CTD. Any ideas? Update - I removed everything Skyrim related from my PC including all mods (kept the downloads) essentially starting with a clean Skyrim slate. It now loads and works correctly. Unfortunately the mods are a different story. If anything it looks worse than the last time I used Skyrim.
Roguespear
I would get Skyrim out of "program files (x86)" to eliminate User Account Control problems and install it in something like c:\games\Bethesda\Skyrim etc. this will eliminate a lot of windows security problems. since I did this, I have not had to give any files admin rights.
