Origin not installed for Sims 4

I recently bought The Sims 4 on Steam and activated it inside Vortex. I had to do this manually, as it didn't automatically pick up on the file location. Every time I try to start the game up, it gives me an error message saying "Oirigin is not installed, which is required to play your game. Please reinstall Origin." Is there a way around this or does it mean that Vortex only works for modding the Sims 4 through the Origin launcher and doesn't support Steam?

Same problem, Did you have a fix on this issue? Facing same issue but no response from anyone and couldn't find this topic troubleshooting anywhere.

You can start the game directly via Steam once you've installed the mods with Vortex.
