LieoTheLion
Whenever I run the game through fnv4gb, Steam wouldn't track my hours played/achievementsearned but I still get the overlay. Does anyone have a potential fix for this? Thanks.
LadyMilla
I have no issues with fnv4gb and Steam. Just make sure you are not using any console commands, or if you use them, make sure you save, quit FNV, restart the game and reload the saved game. In my experience, Steam stops trackingyour progress / achievements once you use the console,
LieoTheLion
Thanks for the quick reply, here's the thing though. My game would start as if I started a non-steam product and wouldn't even know it's Fallout: New Vegas. However it does say I'm playing Fallout: New Vegas. LadyMilla
That's strange. It could be a glitched fnv4gb installation. Are you using 1.6? And what do you mean by 'as if I started a non-steam product'? In my case, fnv4gb completely bypasses the FNV launcher, and starts the game directly (but will not start it without Steam running in the background). LieoTheLion
Yes, I'm using 1.6. What I mean by that is that Steam detects it as I am playing Fallout but it shows my played time as 0s and won't show guides/achievements/discussions in the overlay for Fallout. Meaning it actually isn't detecting a proper game file is what I'm thinking.
LadyMilla
Well, I found a post on Steamcommunity (originally posted by Xilandro) that may help: Quick guide for everyone who have problems with running 4gb enabler (Win7)Get the latest NVSE version. http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/nvse_3_beta2.7z (or don't if you do not use mods that require it).Get the alternative 4gb loader http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zipInstall NVSEInstall alternative 4gb loadercreate a loader shortcut on your desktop. Right click. Click properties.Add into target line -SteamAppID 22380it should look like this:"blablabla\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\fnv4gb.exe" -SteamAppID 22380just like here http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/7651/39237013.jpgApply. Run. Play. Some posters reported that Steam did not track their achievements unless they used the shortcut with the -SteamAppID command line option to launch the game.(You can find the correct Steam App ID in a file called steam_appid.txt that is located in the base FNV directory). Myself, I'm using NVSE and I have the Cenega-Steam version of Fallout New Vegas and it has a Steam App ID that is different from that of the US version so I am forced to use a shortcut and it works just fine. JimboUK
Do you have Steam in offline mode? Steam never counts the hours I play in offline mode, Lord knows why.
LieoTheLion
Do you have Steam in offline mode? Steam never counts the hours I play in offline mode, Lord knows why. I always have Steam in online. Currently re-installing the game to see if this will help. Edit: It didn't.
Neuromante
EDIT: Ok, got to change the original post. Same problem, using the shortcut method didn't worked either. I'm working with a friend on this issue... Edited July 25, 2013 by Neuromante
