Mods are putting more stuff in the game than they should be.

For example, I have posh mud crabs...but i don't have that mod, apparently i read somewhere a quest mod gives it to you...for some reason.

The other weird unwanted mod i have is some kind of skimpy armor mod, it changes certain cloths to a skimpy bright purple outfit for females, I have noticed it on Ria from companions guild, and the girl on the 7000 steps near the frost troll spawn, anyone else know what im talking about?

Oh ya there is also an extra shrine of bolthenia at darkwater crossing....da fuq?

Descent into Madness adds the annoying crabs, and it changes a bunch of other stuff too. It's been months since I tried it (and quickly removed it because of the crabs and similar intrusions), but I seem to remember various armor changes like you're describing. Refer to the comments for other people's feedback on unexpected stuff like that.

Mods can use scripts which will effect your saves even if you uninstall them. That's why you should read the uninstalling info in their readme files because it can tell you to do something in the console first or in the mcm before you actually uninstall it .

1. Posh crabs have nothing to do with scripts in your savegame.

2. Why are you mad about posh crabs after downloading a Sheograth themed quest mod?

It wasn't the crabs, it was the skimpy purple armor i see on random females, it just looks out of place.

Also I saw a shrine of bolthenia at darkwater crossing, just sitting there, with the sacrifice pole and everything, im just wondering "WTF".

I have no idea what is causing that.

The skimpy purple armor is probably the result of missing textures, from your having removed something and then not having anything to replace the texture you removed. The steam verify cache files thing should replace the missing file.

As for mods adding things they shouldn't--in my opinion the only way a mod author is at all to blame for this is if they add things without providing information about it. In my experience, the vast majority of mod authors provide exhaustive information about every aspect of their work, the problem is that few people take the time to read everything before downloading. In that case, the "fault" is entirely with the person downloading.
