Peregrine
Let's not get too excited, folks. Everything I've read about TES4 has lead me to believe that it will initially be an X-Box2 exclusive and will afterward be ported over to PC. There is the possibility that the game will be released simultaneously for both, but since the big push will be for a release concurrent with the X-Box2's release, I suspect it will remain solely on that system for a few months. Hopefully, we'll see some kind of totally awesome marketing campaign for it, similar to the one for Halo 2. When hell freezes over. TES4 as xbox2 exclusive would be suicide, and a complete change of style. It might be released on xbox2 someday, but not as an exclusive. Oh, and you made your point, you love halo2 and its advertising campaign. You can stop telling us in every unrelated thread you post in.
NCBeachBum
Well, the final splash page of the countdown would seem to confirm at last that the announcement tomorrow will be ES4 related, that it will involve Lord Dagon, and that it will involve the sundering of Sotha's peace treaty with the Daedra in Oblivion and the search for an heir of Septim. I still think they'll time the release for the Christmas season of '05, though.
Diabolic_Wizard
http://www.elderscrolls.com/images/splash/o_one.gifhttp://www.elderscrolls.com/images/splash/txt_one.gif finally the countdown ended. lets take a look to that final one. Find Him... and close shut the marble jaws of Oblivion as we can clearly see, we must find someone male. he's definitely the lost dragon's blood. heir of the throne. "marble jaws" resemble to me like a shrine, temple or altar formed for the interplannar gate of Oblivion. if we can find the heir, doors of Oblivion will be shot. very clear. let's take a look to a book: 3 Rain's Hand, 2920Coldharbour, Oblivion "Sotha Sil proceeded as quickly as he could through the blackened halls of the palace, half-submerged in brackish water. All around him, nasty gelatinous creatures scurried into the reeds, bursts of white fire lit up the upper arches of the hall before disappearing, and smells assaulted him, rancid death one moment, sweet flowered perfume the next. Several times he had visited the Daedra princes in their Oblivion, but every time, something different awaited him. " by the way, the same book later describes how Almalexia and Sotha Sil fought against Mehrunes Dagon which happened AFTER the deal was made between Sotha Sil and Daedra Princes. but there is also some daedric runes, on the big "IV" roman number.i tried to unravel these runes, but most of them is unreadible because of lava like cracks. i maded some efforts but i will not write here all possible writings, but only most relevant one. (i completed unreadible parts with my own conjectures) I : Reborn In Blood , starting counter-clockwise from the bottom of the right facet.V : Fire from the Waters Of , starting leftwards from the top-right of the letter. Here is all of the inscriptions: 8: when the dragon dies the empire dies7: where is the lost dragon's blood, the empire's sire?6: and from the womb of the void, who shall stem the blood tide?5: so long as the blood of the dragon prince runs strong in her rulers, the glory of the empire shall extend in unbroken years.4: his heart's blood bleeds in darkness3: for once the portals are opened, who shall shut them upon the rising tide?2: ...for Lord Dagon forever reborn in blood and fire from the waters of Oblivion...1: find him...and close shut the marble jaws of Oblivion. NCBeachBum
The runes on the IV are simply splash prophesy #2 printed in Daedric form.

DreamOfTheRood
Here's an analysis of the Game Informer Cover with in-game artwork. The graphics engine is leaps and bounds ahead of TESIII, which is good. Morrowind's graphics are nice, but they pale when compared to several new games coming out. It's good that BethSoft is going to keep up with the rest of the pack even if it does mean we're all going to have to get new computers to run the game.Since the graphics engine is going to be good, all of the in-game textures are going to look spectacular, as we can see from the screenshot. The brick textures on the burning building are quite good, and the fire looks servicable. Even the character model, a noted shortcoming of Morrowind, looks good. Look at the emotion on that guy's face. That's intense. Everything looks wonderful except for the horse's eyes, and that's just a minor complaint.Oh, yeah. The horse. The guy is riding a horse. A lot of people have requested animals to ride, and there it is. That's a gift to the entire TES community right there. As an aside, I'm surprised that it's being developed for the PS3. I would have thought that BethSoft would run with what had worked before, but it looks like they're branching out. Also, take a look at that building burning. Doesn't that look an awful lot like Cyrodiilic for architecture, like Fort Moonmoth or Buckmoth. I don't mean to imply that the Imperial forts on Vvardenfell are burning. Rather, the scenario is that the forts are burning on Summerset Isle or wherever TESIV is going to take place. Perhaps, this is part of the 'trouble in Cyrodiil city' that we hear about sometimes in Morrowind. There's something very epic about this shot, and it portends good things for the game. Diabolic_Wizard
we don't have any proof that this picture is from in-game graphic engine.well, i didn't read the magazine, but if it is, so my computer is only a piece of junk  how a computer can handle this kind of graphic density?
