cgrasso10
Hi all, I'm new to mods and I need some help. Skyrim is the first I'm trying this with and I followed the instructions to copy to the data folder after extracting the file and I get this message: 1 interrupted action. There is not enough space on BethesdaSoftworks.SkyrimSE You need an additional 1.85 GB to copy these files. I have almost 60GB free space after I freed up almost 30GB and I got this same message before and after. I tried another mod and got the same message except the amount was 740KB (the Widescreen fix mod). I've searched and I seem to be the only one having this issue. I'd appreciate any help, this is very frustrating to have this happen because I want to get back to PC gaming and now I'm remembering why I stopped in the first place and that's because of stuff like this. I love consoles but I was a PC gamer first since 1988 with a 386sx 4MB of RAM and 10MB hard drive so I love tinkering and I think PC's are superior to consoles in almost every way except when it comes these types of errors which make no sense because I have plenty of space. Sorry for my rant. Thank you, Chris
7531Leonidas
Skyrim, or Skyrim SE? Is it (or steam) installed in c: program files (x86) - if so, there can be problems. Try to install it in its own folder, not in (x86). I make my install in/on a different HDD. HD formatted in FAT16, or FAT32? It sounds like you are installing the mod manually. Various mod managers make things easier, once you have 'read up on one? Consider using a mod manager.
cgrasso10
I have Skyrim SE downloaded through Microsoft Gamepass installed on primary SSD with NTFS. It's installed in c:\program files\windowsApps. Its's not in X86 folder, I'll look into a mod manager. I'm not sure you have a choice to change the install folder with Gamepass or Steam. 7531Leonidas
Check this thread on Quora: (https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-mod-Skyrim-using-Xbox-GamePass?share=1) also - (https://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/3108019435239380046/) Maybe this info will help. cgrasso10
Thanks for the links but it's still not working, I enabled mods in Gamepass which was disabled before and I also moved the install location and made sure I had full control of the WindowsApps directory and I get the same error. I give up! Maybe I should purchase this through steam? I only tried the widescreen mod and a updated texture mod but I'm still unable to copy files to the data folder. I'll try a mod manager next then I'm done.
7531Leonidas
Have you searched on Gamepass (or support) for any info? I only have one last idea... Have you checked to make sure that the parent folder(s) are NOT marked read-only? Check by right clicking on the folder, and select Properties. Good Luck! cgrasso10
Yes, it's marked read-only. When I click it off it always goes right back.
HadToRegister
Yes, it's marked read-only. When I click it off it always goes right back. Gamepass is worthless. For one, the exe for Skyrim has been updated and will NOT work with SKSE64, so you won't be able to use ANY Mods that use SKSE64https://game-debate.com/news/30399/skyrim-special-edition-on-game-pass-can-be-modded-but-is-severely-limited

I guess I would have to purchase this on Steam to access the mods?
