Wargumm1i
Hello everyone. My name is Gudmundur and I'm quite new to modding, I recently bin tinkering with it and got my hand on a few mods. Like SKSE, SkyUI, FINS and few more. I decided to try out few new mods It did not occure to me on trying the mod first before adding 5-10 mods on my Nexus Mod Manager before testing to see if they work. But when I finally was satisfied I tried to start the game using "skse_loader.exe". And I got to see the Intro for Bethesda Softwork, and just as the huge Icon for Skyrim appears the game crashes and I got a...... "GameOverlayUI.Exe - Application error - The Instuctions at "0x10026070" referenced memory at "0x10026070". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program......." Okei then I tried again launch the game. I was unable to even enter the game and I got a different error "Steam error application load error P:0000065432" I tried a few times and got the same results. I was quite puzzled by that one. So I tried to shut down my Steam and re-open it. And that seems to have done the trick at least that what it seems because I don't see that window anymore. But the game still crashes as soon as the Intro for Bethesda Softwork has past and huge Icon for Skyrim appears the game crashes again, but no error windows appear. So I tried to shut down my computer and see if that did it. But it seems to repeat itself..... Like how it started I got to see the Intro for Bethesda Softwork, and just as the huge Icon for Skyrim appears the game crashes"GameOverlayUI.exe error" appears, I try to start again was unable to enter the game at all got "Steam error application load error P:0000065432", shut down steam, re-open steam. "Steam error application load error P:0000065432" Gone. I can open the game make it past Bethesda Softwork intro see the huge Icon for Skyrim brief second then game crashes but not Window Error................................................ Before I make the drastic messure on deleting everything or doing something to the mods. I want to see if anyone could give me a workable solution. Best Regards Gudmundur. Lisnpuppy
I guess I need to ask first..do you use Boss or Wrye Bash to help with load order issues. Crashing at intro is often a load order or missing load dependency issue. Have you tried verifying your files through the steam file cache? Wargumm1i
Might I ask what Boss is and Wrye Bash? like i said I'm new to modding. I have bin using it for about 2-3 days. Yes I tried to Verify my files but to be safe I will try again.
jjb54
Also if you have the HIGHREZ 1/3 - 2/3 - 3/3 .. try disabling them. My guess is though - did you check to see if the MODS had any specific requirements or DO NOT USE requirements. Usually the "bad guys" are - Dawnguard - Dragonborn or Hearthfires. Usually you either NEED one or all of these - or they will NOT work with one or all of these. You have to pay attention to the FINE PRINT (even the not so fine print.) Also some mods require another mod - like "Unlimited bookshelves" or "store house" (or what ever the name is - that helps you store your inventory). I found this issue and read that the mod NEEDED this other mod to work .... I missed the NOT SO FINE PRINT .... (I blame it on lack of coffee.) :geek:
Georgiegril
If you don't use anything to optimise load order, than that is your first step, as Lisnpuppy states. You can get BOSS here. It is a regular program, not a mod--if you choose the version with the installer it is super easy to install. Then, run and look at the log it generates, address any messages it gives you and make sure to hand place any unrecognized mods as instructed by the mod author or with similar type mods. I downloaded the BOSS and tired to run it but it does not pick up my Skyrim? I get Undetected. I do have a legal version and I don't understand why it does not detect my Skyrim? I get when I run BOSS "Critical Error: No game detected! Check the Troubleshooting section of the ReadMe for more information and possible solutions.Utility will end now." Okay, this is a silly question maybe - You stated you have a "legal" version of Skyrim. Where did you get it? ... Steam Store?... Retail and have the DVD? I am remembering some similar 'issues' that you posted with Steam Store Versions. I'm not sure why it was an issue - but it took some "re-down loading" a few times, basically scrub and re-install to get their 'copy' to work. One reason I do not buy "ghost" copies as I call them, unless they are under $8.00 and I have no other choice.. A little harder to validate and prove you own it -vs- having a hard copy in your hand. That is not harder to prove. At this point it looks like: Do the HUNT & PECK Mod check turning them all off and turn one on at a time, play long enough to see and then turn on another one, play long enough to see ... and continue. IF THAT DOES NOT WORK: Do a complete SCRUB of the Game AND Steam and install in a totally different named directory. Also make sure to delete all files in the: <directory>:\My Games\Skyrim AND the <directory>:\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE folders. (If you have SKSE, obviously.) Good Hunting, Dovahkiin, good hunting. It's a Steam store bought version. And I managed to fix it by starting the Skyrim launcher on Steam then running BOSS I got it to run then. Are there some mods that need to be downloaded manually in a way that I copied and pasted it onto the Skyrim folder or is it not just possible to use Nexus Mod Manager? Wargumm1i
I managed to fix the problem thanks to BOSS :) It turned out to be a really badly installed mod. Got rid of it and the game worked like a charm. Thanks for all the support :) Best Regards Gudmundur.
