Ceolweld
Hi. Relatively new to the whole modding thing, so forgive me if I don't realize or understand something that's obvious to you. Knowing that any mod requires having SKSE installed, I've tried to do it. At first I've installed it via Steam, but after I've done that and then tried to download mods via Vortex, the program told me that I don't have SKSE installed. Then I've tried to install SKSE manually via downloading and running the installer, but every time the installer told me it is unable to determine game's installation location; even after I set the directory to :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ , it continues to tell me that it cannot find the game's EXE file. I'm at a loss. Help would be appreciated :).
HadToRegister
This is the SKyrim Special Edition Forum, if you installed SKSE through Steam, then you've installed SKSE for SKyrim Legendary Edition.Just install SKSE64 with VORTEX, it can install SKSE64 PROPERLY. Ceolweld
if you installed SKSE through Steam, then you've installed SKSE for SKyrim Legendary Edition. Just install SKSE64 with VORTEX, it can install SKSE64 PROPERLY. But there is no Legendary Edition Skyrim on Steam, at least not now. As for SKSE64, I've checked in Extensions tab and Vortex tells me that Skyrim Script Extender 64 is not installed. It then sends me to the website from which I supposedly can install it manually. Yes, but the SKSE on Steam, is for the Legendary Version of Skyrim whether the legendary version is on steam or not.I have both SKyrim Legendary and Skyrim Special, and the only SKSE on Steam if for Legendary. INSTALL SKSE64 USING VORTEX, it can install it correctly now.
Ceolweld
Same issue as before: the program told me that I don't have SKSE installed. If there is some other way to install the program "using Vortex", then I don't see it.

If so, click on INSTALL If it's not showing up in your MODS tab, then Drag the SKSE64 ZIP or 7z to the Vortex Mod Tab so that Vortex can detect it, then click INSTALL Make sure you DEPLOY after you INSTALL and ENABLE
Ceolweld
Sadly it doesn't work. I drop the SKSE64 7Z file into the Vortex' mod Mods tab and nothing happens, the tab is still empty.
Ceolweld
Okay, I've seemingly managed to install the SKSE64 loader via Vortex by using the "Install From File" option in the program. Will see if I can install other mods now. If yes then thanks for help.

Ceolweld
"SKYUI Error Code 1, the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE64) is not running. SKYUI will not work correctly!" etc, etc. This is the message I get when I start the game with all the mods installed, enabled and deployed. The game itself starts. Seems I still haven't installed SKSE64 correctly. If it's not showing up in your MODS tab, then Drag the SKSE64 ZIP or 7z to the Vortex Mod Tab so that Vortex can detect it, then click INSTALL I can't drag and drop the SKSE64 7z file into the Mods tab, but I can do it in the Extensions tab. Still, when I do it I get Vortex error saying that "Doesn't seem to contain a correctly packaged extension, theme or translation".
