123hamster
So I made a few new spell tomes, how should I introduce it to the game? Do I just toss them somewhere in Riverwood? I heard I shouldn't release mods with modified leveled item list because it will conflict with other item mods.
IsharaMeradin
You can set them in specific places to be found. You can add them to one or more leveled lists directly and indicate to users that they should create a bashed patch for the leveled list. You can add them to one or more leveled lists via script to avoid needing to make a bashed patch.I am sure there are other ways as well. 123hamster
So the easiest way to "add item to shop" is still just make your own merchant NPC and shove it inside it's hidden chest? Now that's a bummer. I definitely don't expect the user to be modding their own leveled list.
IsharaMeradin
I wouldn't say creating an NPC merchant with their own hidden chest is easier than adding items to an existing leveled list used by the existing merchants. Don't be afraid to edit the leveled lists out of fear of conflict. Not every mod that edits leveled lists will conflict. And for those that do, the end user can create a bashed patch. If anything, I'd say the custom NPC merchant might have less chance for conflict. Then again, a mod might change the area where you put the NPC and they get stuck, lost or worse. 123hamster
Well since I decided to add a NPC in Riverwood, it might as well be a giant bear. https://imgur.com/a/WPQvY3j
