lettet
Was anybody considering doing this? Putting Fallout 1 and / or 2 in Fallout 3? I bought Fallout recently and playing it was almost impossible for me but am very interested in the story. I read the Story on Fallout Wiki, but playing it will be a lot more fun, especially with the awesome FO3 engine (Gamebryo).
patterabbit
I would like to see this aswell :) For same reasons as you - When you are used to modern graphics and gaming systems, playing that old games on todays screens and computers is not the best experience sadly. Specially when it takes ages just to kill a couple of rats in the beginning :(
SirOstfralla
That is just what i was thinking and i hope that someone will give reabirth to these old games that i really want to play trough. muppetsoup
Young whippersnappers, your attention spans have been ruined by your newfangled MTV, and cellpods, and whatnot Back in my day it was the bomb that you could run FO1 in both DOS and Win95. :)
necKros
WTF, this has been talked before many times. I don't think anyone will believe there will be a full fan-made FO1 or 2. Besides, it would be illegal.
TGBlank
People need a reality check (better if it is with a blunt object, make that a large and heavy blunt object) before asking for immensely huge and time-eating mod. You do realize you're asking for a team of 20-30 people to dedicate 1-3 years of their lives to do a (potentially EULA breaking) mod... for free?.And since when is turn based combat bad?. Do you know what happened to that Chrono Trigger remake project? And that's just an example. Not that I like it, it sucks.
muppetsoup
What content do you thin would be reused? Certainly no graphic resources. Sounds, maybe. Old school weapons have already been ported over into FO3 mods. So you're really saying that reuse of the storyline would be prohibited by EULA and/or IP law. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but that's a far cry from a blanket statement that it would be illegal, much less "wrong".
necKros
No, no, by content I don't mean any resources from the actual games, but the storyline, characters, weapons, etc. I'm not saying it mustn't be done in any way, I do believe that some revival projects for FO1, 2 and even Van Buren are indeed some of the greatest ideas in the FO3 modding scene.
