ZX81v2
Hi folks, so I purchased FO3 last week, installed it last night. Fixed it slightly so it actually loads on Windows 10.Now I have no idea what mods to install to make this game run right or improve it. Looking through NEXUS,it's quite daunting on what mods to download, and as with all games, what mods kill other mods etc...I never bothered with the Fallout games, and the fact it's a bugged up piece of junk STILL, is a real joke from Bethesda..And don't ask me what I think of STEAM right now...I thought Fallout NV was bad... This is a real bad joke...So folks ! Ned help here, if you would be so kind :smile:ZX Edited September 12, 2021 by ZX81v2
Mktavish
Just start using the geck to mod in what ever changes you want from vanilla. It will definitely be more stable that way ... and then you will better understand how to add other peoples mods to it. laclongquan
He meant Fallout 3, not FNV. There is certain charm to play pure F3 instead of FNV with TTW. Number 1 question: how is your computer. If you can manage 4GB ram with at least 1GB ram of GF card, then you can run SOME texture packs I mentioned at bottom. Otherwise, just manage with gameplay location mods. Top priority: Install some big mod that contain numerous new locations, buildings, and enemies. Like A World Without Pain mod, for example. Vanilla FO3 is as empty as FNV vanilla and you are going to need something extra to save the pain. AWOP also contain a lot of new weapons, armors, and aid items, so it help the main game also Depend on your taste, as I personally cant run a game without Hardcore mode turn on, so you can install a mod that emulate hardcore needs. Simple Needs Expanded for one, but there's other mods like it. When you run DLC like Point Lookout or The Pitt, there's big mod that add new locations inside them. Remember to add before play, and remove after completion. Examples are the Pitt Expansion project, and PLO Fish hunter village, Confederate forces, PLO reborn mods. Visually, you can add a body replacer and various clothes/armor mod that associated with that type of replacer. While there's newer ones like Type 4 and Type 6, Type 3 has the most numerous clothes armor mod you can find on Nexus.+++Unless you are a finicky player about body form, i dont believe you need anything outside of type3. More demanding on graphic would be big textures mod,or weather, flora etc... which upscale original art assets and or introduce new ones, with higher res. This will kill any weak rig in a series of CTD. Edited October 16, 2021 by laclongquan
