Adding Shadowrun Returns to Nexus network

Hi, i was told here would be the likely place to post or ask this. Recently Shadowrun Returns has come out and it's a highly modable game. I think it would make a great addition to the nexus network, and give the game some great exposure.

Currently it has steam workshop integration, but not everything is suitable for it. I think this game needs to be added. Is it possible?

For years now I have been using the Nexus site and after getting Shadowrun Returns myself I would love to see an addition be added here for the game, I love being able to go to one site to find all my favorite games and the mods for them. So I am hopeing as well it is added or given a home here if there is enough call for it or requests for it.

If the DRM-free stuff from the Kickstarter campaign hadn't been a complete farce I'd probably be working my ass off to get this sorted. But it is a farce and as a result only a small number of people have a DRM-free copy of the game. I've got other things to do right now so I'm in no rush when the game is basically DRMified by Steam, as is the modding, which means the need for a Nexus site is very limited.

I don't post much here, if at all... but I do use the Nexus regularly for most Elder Scrolls game I own.

Much like in Skyrim, Shadowrun Returns might use Steamworks DRM for the game itself, but it does not have any limitations whatsoever on modded content. If you publish on Steam Workshop, then sure - Steam's your way of downloading the content, be it assets or adventure modules.

But you can just as easily download the mods via a third party, and extract them into the relevant directory, which is something people are doing when Steam Workshop doesn't quite finalize the mod installation, for example - http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/discussions/-1/864974880458065281/?appid=234650

A content pack is little more than a glorified Zip file. You can just as easily use Publish Locally or Publish To, and the modder has access to the files in a manner that is later accessible to a user, without involving Steam in the process. Which is why The Lost Lamb, one of the earliest mods from the early-access Kickstarter supporters? Available from Dropbox.

And there are a couple of mods on ModDB already: http://www.moddb.com/games/shadowrun-returns/addons

The modding is not DRM-ified. The toolset, one can argue, is DRM-ified, as is the game itself. But the mods?

Steam Workshop is a bit of a mess when it comes to organizing content and discussing development, nor does it have the Nexus' amazing modding community. Dark0ne, I realize you have a big change coming up for the site right now, and you're more focused on that than Shadowrun Returns... but this can be a big one. As big as NWN1 was, back in the day.

And I honestly believe all will benefit if the Nexus is part of that from the beginning.

The mods are 100% drm free. After all i have already made props, a tileset, and am working on a lengthy campaign. All of hit as a mod it stored in a zip file which you drop in the right folder on your hardrive. There is no DRM prevneting mods of any sort from being made. The game is exstrely modable... poeple have even found out how to script new wepons (the devs said would not be possible pre lanuch). I think you should have another look at it, steam wrokshop is crap... like EXSTREMLY crap... The devs made it easy to publish to it, but that dose not mean mods are DRMed, in fact in the editor you can export the project anywhere you want as a zip file. The publish localy option just is nice enough to throw it in the right folder to beable to play right away.

Not only am I excited to hear about the addition of Shadowrun Returns, but I think picking up modding communities for all the upcoming major kickstar games that include the modding tools like Wasteland 2 and Cyberpunk 2077(unconfirmed). Honestly, they're games being developed by well known designers, appealing to a massive marketing fanbase, that will more or less advertise themselves when people see them listed on the Nexus, and they're usually great games that pose infinite possibilities for modding.
