for the love of god, can someone...

...write a tutorial on Bodyslide/Outfit Studio WITHOUT mentioning CBBE? Everything I've found uses that as an example, and does not take into account that an extreme noob doesn't use that, and is starting with a blank slate, literally. Like what to do if you body of choice doesn't show up, then doesn't show up in the Outfit Studio when one does get the body modified. Step by freaking step. It may seem easy to those who are familiar, but the stumbling blocks can be many, especially if there are not many premade outfits with bodyslide compatible files.

Sorry to sound like a b*tch, but this is darned frustrating! I have a nice body for my character, finally, only to have him squished back into vanilla form because I also can't figure out how to make a file compatible. As it turns out, the body I chose doesn't have a lot of bodyslide compatible mods available. Every time I go through a tutorial, and there are many, I want to scream when it shows CBBE and not what to for another when it's not on the body list.

This may be moot, as I'm thinking of starting over with a body mod like SHB that already has a lot of compatible clothing/armor mod files. But a more complete tutorial would be a huge help to a lot of us out here!

FYI, the body I chose is BT3, lord help me...probably by the end of the day I'll have tossed it out the window...

Edit: NOT a noob to modding, just a noob to Bodyslide/Outfit Studio.

Edit2: Rant over, but still hoping.

Honestly bro, just save your body file elsewhere and download CBBE just for the learning process to make things easier. You can always go back. And for outfits and stuff, it depends on if there is support for outfits using that body type. You'll save a lot of time if you just learn the CBBE way and it will translate over to other body types. Its all the same process, but different body meshes. I would still recommend using CBBE though, since almost every clothing mod on the nexus uses it and has the most customization.

Sorry, forgot to come back to this. Not a 'bro', by the way, lol. I switched to SHB and it worked fine, I had to learn the ins and outs without confusing tutorials. I still think most of the tutorials screw up by using cbbe as the example, not everyone uses it. I don't, as I play male characters, and getting 'blanks' , or cbbe this and cbbe that, is frustrating and disconcerting. Thankfully, a very good friend gave me a very welcome helping hand, all is good. I don't normally go on raging, dramatic rants, and for that I'm sorry.

Man, we all do them. I usually fire mine at the so-called support for Windows 10. I've also been known to do it when you buy a game that's part of a collection and found that despite the said game being sold quite a while on its own it's flat out not set for independent play when you bought it (HALO Combat Evolved Anniversary as part of the Master Chief Collection on Steam...) Believe me, I do know your pain.
