"Failed to start game through launcher"

I have installed 3 mods for 7 Days to Die through nexus and onto the vortex mod manager. The mods and game are on the same drive and enabled. Whenever I click the play button in the launcher it gives me the error "Failed to start game through launcher". If I click "more" it says: "please check whether the is set up correctly.". Any ideas on what to do?

You can generally start the game directly. If Vortex can start it via the launcher, perhaps the launcher application isn't running?

I'm also having the same problem and would like if the author of the topic explained if they fixed it and how. Its been long enough there may have been an update that he forgot about the topic.
