load order resets on vortex restart

hello! I'm having a weird problem with my FNV mods- every time I close and reopen vortex, the mod order resets to a strange state, with the DLCs at the bottom. if I sort them, they go back to normal, but they're back in the weird state once I close and reopen vortex again. additionally, even if I run the game while the mods are sorted, the game acts as if the mods were in the wrong order (I got a notification that YUP was overwriting the features of another mod, since the messed up load order placed YUP beneath it.) Does anyone know how to fix this problem? thanks!

Sounds like something other than Vortex is messing with your plugins.txt (or the file might write protected?)

I just checked that- both the load order and plugins are not set to read only. If there's another way they could be protected, please let me know.

in addition to this, both the plugins and load order txt files have the "correct" load order- but for some reason, the way the mods are actually staged is in the wonky load order.

 

for reference, this issue happened after I reinstalled all my mods due to another strange issue.

Are you sure you haven't just set the ordering column in the plugins table to the wrong one?
