baltasaronmeth
No, but the Dragonborn is basically a dragon wearing a human (or elf, or beastkin) face. WAT? Are you guys trolling me?) Dragons are immortal creatures, and dragonborn heroes are mortals with a gift. Its just a fate of very few to gain the ability to absorb dragon souls. A gift. Not a genetic legacy (can i say so? dont think legacy is the right word, sorry). Paarthurnax recognizes you as one of his and treats you that way. He explicitly states, that the player is dovahkiin, like himself.
Urtel
He explicitly states, that the player is dovahkiin, like himself. Just stop it, ok? You mix it up so badly. When you do not know the meaning of word, do not use it as a prove.
TheVampireDante
He actually states that it's been a long time he has spoken with one of his own - a Dragon. 1.22: He says: "Drem. Patience. There are formalities which must be observed, at the first meet of two of the Dov."2:42: He says (at the end sentence: "It is a long time since I had the pleasure of speech with one of my own kind." The Dovahkiin is, at base levels: a mortal body - with a Dragon soul inside it. Other Dragons recognize this.
baltasaronmeth
Heh, youtube to the rescue! By the way, this is the most silly scene in the German version. He keeps calling himself Dov, but pronounces the word like "doof", which means stupid in a clumsy way.
Urtel
Look, i agree with the dragon soul statement, and never was arguing, that dragonborn has such gift. I only pointed, that dovahs and dovahkiins are not the same, and old clumsy P can not call himself a dovahkiin, but a dovah. Dovahs are exactly dragons, dovahkiins are not. They are not blood-related, which was the main argument point. If you follow the whole argument here, you will see that, and what we are talking about has nothing to do with the thread theme, so ill end this here. It was offtopic. MidbossVyers
What I'm trying to say is that the soul defines the self, not the body. You may have a mortal body, but you have a dragon's soul. Ergo, you are a dragon.
baltasaronmeth
I am under the impression, that Urtel is just roleplaying here, trying to justify his crusader point of view. This is basically what I think everytime somebody on the Nexus forums says something I disagree with. It's just RP. My version of reality remains untouched. dorrionfinley
Well, being on topic here, I too chose Paarthurnax.I chose him for both Role-Playing purposes and Selfishness. Paarthurnax is like a Father figure to the Dovakiin, and the Greybeards his wise uncles. That, and I just love the voice of Paarthurnax. Oh and for the selfish reasons, siding with the Greybeards allows you to find all Words of Power where as siding with the Blades lets you find Dragons where a Word of Power just so happens to be at. CrystalMMM
Paarthurnax definitely. If it weren't for Paarthurnax and the Greybeards the player would have never discovered his true potential and wouldn't ultimately killed Alduin. starlitegirl
Paarthurnax every time. Why? The blades are stuck on revenge for something a dragon did 1000 years ago and who stuck himself on a mountain to stop what happened. Without him being there that dragon doesn't get stopped. He also changed his nature to be a peaceful dragon. What did the blades do? Seek revenge for stuff that happened so long ago they needed to read about it to know who and what it was. Delphine is bossy, arrogant, rude, and condescending. Esbern is kind of out of it but can give you some information. I wouldn't want THEM to be the future of the blades and putting recruits in their hands makes that so. It should end with them if they cannot listen to reason regarding Paarthurnax. Angier might be annoying at times, but he is right about them. They used the dragonborn rather than serve the dragonborn. At least that is how I felt by the time they demanded Paarthurnax die. Meanwhile, the greybeards and Paarthurnax helped the dragonborn asking nothing in return... even when uncomfortable about doing the negotiations, they do it. Do you see that from the blades? No. You get sent of to do Delphine's bidding. Yes, you needed Esbern's help but it came with the high price of killing the ONLY dragon that stood against Aulduin.
