Rennn
I'm fine with DLC that was made after the complete and cohesive game released (Dark Souls, Borderlands 2). But I hate it when developers try to persuade players to pay extra for integral story content, or for DLC which was finished before the game itself was complete. (Assassin's Creed series) More content isn't bad on its own. The problem is when developers leave gaps in their game that are supposed to be filled with paid DLC. I loved the Dark Souls dlc specifically because it was made afterwards. It's nice to hear that CDProjekt isn't having paid dlc, though. It alleviates the risk of abusing the system the way Bioware (as much as I love them) or others have.

I think Bioware's DLC abuse (minor as it was) was more due to EA and tight deadlines than Bioware itself. This is the company responsible for acclaimed post-story DLC like Awakenings, remember. And they did make the ending DLC free in Mass Effect 3. I'm not talking about ME 3 so much as I'm talking about DA 2. I loved that game, but they gimped the ending, either to save time or as a profit-grab, intending to add paid end game dlc later. They made the dlc. . . then they declined to release it for financial reasons. So everyone who played the game got an unfinished ending. That wouldn't have needed to happen if they'd just finished the ending the first time, without relying on dlc for it. JimboUK
Fallout 3 was the one that really annoyed me, they sold the proper ending separately.
Vindekarr
Jim-we saw the beginning of this with Halo 4. All it's DLC was free, and eventually stacked up as longer than the original game. I for one applaud the idea. And besides, if you had to pay, all those packs would be like, $
brokenergy
Do you were all that development costs will hit once they release those DLC? Their hip pocket.
Thor.
I knew ZeroKing  would be watching this, I like the idea of complete dlc like Borderlands 2, but that other stuff is garbage. It adds to the longevity of the game over time if its done right, by adding full fledged story like borderlands 2. Borderlands2 has the highest rated dlc of all time. Especially Tiny Tina, and its not the last either, season two is on its way. Edited July 31, 2013 by Thor. ZeroKing
Interesting. Had a talk with Konrad and Samil (former graphics artist for The Witcher 1) a couple of months ago about RED Engine's new tesselation pipeline when Konrad brought up the whoie "There'll be no paid DLCs this time round"....... good on him for living up to that statement.
