Belts for swords

hi everyone I'm quite new for the nexusforums, but I'm following the excellent mods of the tesnexus about a year. I'm not sure if the topic was started before, but wouldn't it be cool if the all blade type weapons had a unique sword belt alongside with its sheath? the original game doesn't include such emplacement, which makes the weapons look like they are sticked on the sides of the characters. I think it would be more realistic if the sword sheaths had belts connected to the characters. I'd be glad if someone can enlighten me whether it can be done or not thanks anyway

well, one way could be to create a script that equips the belt whenever the sword is equipped, but there's only so many slots on the body, so it would probably have to either take up the smulet or tail slot, the first inconveniencing all the characters, while the second breaking immersion for beast races. if you don't mind that, then all you need is someone willing to go through and make all the scripts and belts

The primary problem with this is clipping. The game engine does not have an elegant solution inplace for this...hence why the developers avoided it. If the character was naked, the belt would need to be fairly close to the body or it would look like a magically floating tire around the characters waist...which is sized differently for men and women. Now throw on a hundred varying-in-size greaves and overlapping cuirasses and you start to see a problem.
