Issues with everything TROUBLESHOOTING

ok. For the love of god

 

i broke down and bought FO3 today, hoping that having a legit copy would fix some of my issues.

 

ISSUE #1- all of the sudden FOSE started cause problems (error: FOSE could not find FOSE_1_0_DLL)

 

WHAT I DID- Re-Installed FOSE

 

RESULT- same error message

 

WHAT I DID- Removed FOSE completely

 

RESULT- Fallout Launches from FOMM , but with no freakin menus, keyboard and mouse totally unresponsive, Tried controller, did not work, rebooted with controller reciever unplugged, still no menus, non-responsive, cannot alt+tab, must hard reboot.

 

WHAT I DID- Removed FOMM

 

RESULT- Fallout Launches with no menus, non-responsive. cannot alt+tab, must hard reboot.

 

WHAT I DID- wiped fallout completely off PC, re-installed from scratch, smoke cigarettes, cuss at my computer.

 

RESULT- Fallout Launches, Keyboard and mouse are responding, Menus appear, Fallout works!

 

WHAT I DID- Installed FOMM, checked off all my usual non-buggy plug-ins/Mods, Launched Fallout

 

RESULT- Fallout lauches, menus work, everything responds, fallout works

 

WHAT I DID- installed FOSE, and repeated EVERYTHING I JUST SAID.

 

FOSE is not working out very well for me

 

ISSUE #2- BSA archives

 

After installing the official game that i purchased, i look into the folder and see BSA archives instead of folders.

How do i then add textures for mods and such?

 

ISSUE #3- GFWL is a piece of crap, i DL'd anchorage for my 360, do i have to pay for it again? because in my GFWL browser thing, there is a place for content i've purchased, i should be able to dL it from here right? but the damn thing says it cannot locate or retrieve my purchased content....

 

This is why i wish i could just have the GECK only, and mod for consoles, poo like this is ridiculous, i've been screwing with this for 4 hours, and have made ZERO progress.

 

If anyone can help me with any of this please chime in.

first calm down, anger doesn’t solve the problem.

I haven’t downloaded a DLC by live yet and I`m not planning to do so.

I`m waiting for an purchase box set:)

Maybe your firewall is too excessive or some ports are blocked?

dont know

But

ISSUE #2- BSA archives:

Yep that’s normal and I think it’s a great idea.

So you can un- and install mods without changing the original data.

Textures and so on are added by Archivinvalidation or by GECK.

That tells the program to use e.g. a Texture instead of the original or by GECK as new content.

Issue #1 FOSE:

Patching the game would most likely have worked

 

Issue #2 BSA:

Game resources, not an issue

 

Issue #3 G4WL:

the reason I installed my store bought FO3 from my HD-sans G4WL folder.

Yes, if you paid for it for your 360 you need to buy it again if you want it on your PC, good luck
