eviljim
the most important thing i suppose is that it's moddable. that way, anything they screw up, the amazing mod community will be able to fix B)
Dinin
This is gonna take awhile.... but they also said that the game would be more combat orientated. Whats your point? And you say that those who are questioning Bethesda regarding some of their statements don't deserve the game? Oh yeah, if you have a concern just shup up, because else you don't deserve the game. Makes much sense to me. First off, read what I say. I specifically said "Those that say they won't buy the game, i hope they go through with that, because they don't deserve to play it"It's not that crazy of a thing to say, if someone disses a game that is respectable, then acts like a baby because the company decides to change things, they don't deserve to play the game. You missed part of the main idea. They said they didn't want to play the game, therefore let them miss out. That right there jsut contradicted yourself - that's what happens in hack and slash games. But would it be a hack-n-slash game if things such as factions/1000 npcs/in-depth storyline/etc. accompanied it? No, it wouldn't be. It would just be a game with a good combat system. Blocking or no, it's still hack and slash. You can block in Dungeons & Dragons Heroes, as well as Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Those are hack and slash. Let me get something clear, you think that if a game's combat system is similar to a hack-n-slash game, that means its a hack-n-slash game? Odd...like i said, if other things accompany the game then it isn't just a hack-n-slash. And in any case, almost anything is better than Morrowind's combat system, 3 different swipes and you can view your progress by checking a bar: Longsword = 87/100.......Wow. You're acting like you hate combat Slaiv. Yeah, if you want to wait 10 more years. You say this as if TESIV won't even come out? Wait ten years....no no. Play TESIV for 2 years, play mods for 3 years, and wait 2 years for TESV. Careful what you say buddy, you're making what i say sound worse than it is. Graphics don't matter. It's the gameplay that counts. Peasant's Quest is one of the funnest games I've played recently. Warcraft III - not too-good graphics. One of the best strategy games of all time, up there with Starcraft. Final Fantasy V and VI - awesome. For the SNES. The best MMORPG available right now just happens to be free, and has terrible graphics: Runescape. Morrowind is awesome - graphics aren't that impressive. Good, but not impressive. These are all opinions. Ask yourself this, would those games be better if they had everything that they have now, as well as top-quality graphics? Answer..Yes. By saying no, you say that you don't like good graphics...which is pretty weird. We have. You most likely haven't read what's on the first page. All of that information came from the GI article. Good for you, but the information you have read is still very vague.
valdir
but they also said that the game would be more combat orientated. Did you read the article? The daedra are invading. There BETTER be more combat. I may be wrong, but where did you hear that the game would be hack and slash? Sorry, but I don't recall hearing that at all. I heard something about more combat and improved combat.... nope, nothing about BG: Dark Alliance or LOTR style hack and slashing here. Also, if wanting 1000 completely dynamic NPCs over MW's 2500+ static dialogue boxes is bad... then you, sir, are freaking insane. Once again on the size. Smaller doesn't mean small. Plus, they even SAID it would be more detailed, so why are you b1tchin'? Granted, it is easier to whine that praise. Factions thing: I'd rather have 6 more detailed factions than 13 fetch/slay monster/fed-ex factions ANY day. BTWanything they screw up, the amazing mod community will be able to fix This man deserves a cookie and a shiny medal. ~V Edit--- If I have to deliver one more object from point A to point B... There will be consequences.... it might also involve the slaughtering of mankind....

NCBeachBum
Well, like I said somewherea few pages back, if we're right and it is more of a hank 'n slash than an RPG, I'll still buy it.... about a year after it comes out, once the modding community has turned it into a TES game. The simple fact of the matter is, I can't play a hack n' slash, and won't try...... I can't manage button combos and things like that. I'm old, computer illiterate, and my reflexes have slowed down drastically. But that's the wonderful thing about true RPG's....... you don't have to be able to do all those things, because how well you build yur character and raise his skills determines his success. They're accessible to all of us, old or young. Even old geezers like me whose last console system was an Atari 2600.

pharzon
Edit: Forget it, I'm not going to discuss this topic any more. The only reason I was on these fora was because of MEMod. Now these reason are gone and so will I be..Cheers.. pharzon..
bluepoo
If the game is that short they have to be planning expansions for later release, i mean c'mon 1000 npc same faces over and over again, i know bethesda wouldnt make that small of a game until there next one. Slaiv
Like I said, I sincerely do hope I'm wrong. All I can say is that since Bethsoft has the same budget and is obviously spending the greater part of their time on graphics, that may mean they're not paying as much attention to other details. If 1000 unique NPCs are included, I'm completely for it. But, as mentioned, Bethsoft has their attention elsewhere...
