ninja3d
Hi everyone, so one of my biggest problem with the game is the fact that at night, most grass types dont receive light from torches. In my opinion it's really really immersion breaking. You have those realistic dark night, it's creepy it's perfect but those black patches of grass make it hard to navigate even with a torch. (when you have bigger grass mod) So anyways, has anybody have ideas as to how we could overwrite or bypass that problem Bethesda created with path 1.5? (grass was receiving light from torches before) It's pretty desesperate but hey maybe we can come up with a way. First idea would be to see if there is a flag in CK for the grass receiving light again. But I doubt that as it would propably have been fixed already if it would be that easy. Let me know what you think guys. Thx! mastervampire
Is there anyway to fix this?I also have dark grass at night even with a torch or magic light spell going on.
blnk2007
I am sad that no one has said anything about a fix for this yet. I too have grass that doesn't light up from torches. Other plant mods have plants that light up from torches properly, but grass is still broken. Please someone help!
Lechuzza
Was looking for the same thing. Anyone figure out a solution or found a mod that fixes this?
accidmav
Damn. Nobody has any ideas for this? It is super irritating. I originally thought that it was a problem with the ENB setting that I was using, so I messed around with PointLighting settings in the ini and tweaked bloom levels to see if maybe I just had everything too low. Turns out this was actually a problem for everyone. Did they really mess this up with that one patch? If so, that is really disheartening. I couldn't remember if it was a problem or not prior to the patch changing things. Damn you Bethesda!
Deleted2742791User
It's been a while, and I'm still having trouble finding a fix anywhere. It's almost impossible to navigate outdoors with it being so dark, and torches, lanterns, etc. doesn't help a bit. The only real option for night-time navigationis playing a race with, or obtaining the skill, night-eye - but even then, nighteye isn't that pretty. Sereganor
At first I thought you meant lighted as in lit on fire. Which would definitely be immersive, if they started a grassfire when you dropped one (or burned a chest if you deposited them in one made of wood). Warofart
Yep, got that same issue too. Grass is not lit by torches or other sources of light; it's only lit by ambient light. Same goes for certain ground pebbles/rocks that are equally unaffected by the light. I too messed about with the ini settings, and nope, grass and some small rocks will stay dark. I think we can spot this because many of us probably use mods that darken the nights, so when a torch is used or we are near a fire. The difference in ambient light (from the time of day) and the torch is much greater. In vanilla, nights are much much brighter, so the stubbornness of these grasses and rocks to be lit is not glaring.
Saerileth
Are you sure grass used to be lit by torches prior to 1.5? I thought the engine wasn't capable of properly lighting grass. According to prod80 (the author of CoT Weather Patch and Serenity ENB), it has been tried many times to add the corresponding flag to the grass meshes, but doing so will crash the game. Warofart
I do believe it was never possible, just something that became more apparent with lighting mods. Guess there is a limit to how far we can take Skyrim's engine.
