morgantimerman
Hi I am looking for help with Vortex, I've used it for years without issues. Now upon startup I get an "Installation corrupted" error code. When I uninstall and reinstall vortex, it states that it is already running, and gives me the option to close it, even though it should not be installed on the computer. So far I have done various uninstall/reinstalls with and without my antivirus (bitdefender) turned on, granted Vortex app data permission to myself, and completely deleting the vortex folder found under app data. When I attempt to delete the vortex app data folder, I receive a notification saying that some or all of the files are open in another location, and therefor can't be deleted. Very frustrating not being able to remove Vortex completely from my device. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Guest deleted34304850
just reinstall it over the top, i.e. dont remove anything.
Pickysaurus
Have you tried restarting your PC? Sounds like something in blocking the appdata folder content from being accessed (probably AV/security apps?)
morgantimerman
just reinstall it over the top, i.e. dont remove anything. Just uninstalled my antivirus completely, and installed vortex over itself, same issues. Have you tried restarting your PC? Sounds like something in blocking the appdata folder content from being accessed (probably AV/security apps?) Yes I have restarted multiple times. I agree the issue seems to involve the appdata folder, I just am at a loss on how to fix it. It seems the most common solutions haven't worked. Guest deleted34304850
hard to say whats caused this but all the install/uninstall won't have helped.get revo uninstaller and have it remove vortex fully.it will give you a bit more than conventional uninstall utiilities and it may detect lingering assets.then reboot - then install fresh. hopefully you get more joy.
