gmax for morrowind

No. It is "possible" to use the quake3 export plugin for gmax to export the models, then use Deep Exploration? (free) to convert to a format 3dsmax can read. Then if you've got someone with 3dsmax, they can do the final export for you.

Only problem with this is you get a lot of unwanted smoothing and I have no idea if it keeps the textures or animation intact. So even with flawless modeling, you're looking at a lower quality. And it's a lot harder to test ingame, since your export person isn't going to want a constant supply of conversions to do. I'd say I'd do the final conversion for you, but I'd have to reinstall my old 3dsmax version (the plugin won't work with 3dsmax6) and fix the problems I was having with it.

In short form, if you want to do any serious modeling work, don't touch gmax. They've killed the compatability so it won't compete with 3dsmax, and more often than not, that's a fatal loss. Get blender or something... you're still asking for conversion help, but it's a much better alternative.

Search Google for "Gmax tutorials."

At any rate, at least try out Blender. It's completely free. Also try Milkshape, it's alright for like, $30 with a free 30 day trial. Also, get Maya Personal Learning edition.

I just realised that that's a lot of stuff to get. Sorry. ^_^

Edit: Try this.
