Melee Weapons....

My first melee character took on the Behemoth with the Deathclaw Gauntlet (and Metal Armor and Med-X and Stimpaks and Psycho and lots of running around like a lunatic/puffing Jet to regenerate AP before launching into another VATS flurry).

 

Although technically that's Unarmed.

I carry a combat knife with me incase I dont feel like wasteing bullets also...there is a youtube video of a guy no mods who wears a party hat and the naughty nightwear and beats a supermutant behemoth with his bare hands. I mean if unarmed can be useful to THAT extent that im sure Melee can as well.

When i see a group of raiders down the road, i pull out my shishkebab and yell "LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROYYYYYYYYYY JENKINS" before charging headlong into them, swinging the sword wildly.

 

So yes, i love melee weapons! :whistling:

Actually one of my favourite things to do in this game is the following.

 

I pick anything I'd like to do, let's say take on a small camp of raiders. Then I carry nothing with me besides the appropriate armor... and a knife. The only weapons and ammo I can use are the things I can take from my enemies. Try it sometimes, it's fun. Go in with a knife... go out with half an arsenal of guns and ammo. :biggrin:

They are good backup weapons, but other than that, most physical weapons that have an acceptable damage rating weigh too much.

Well some times melee is useful

In the begining of the game i used melee to kill molerats and radroach
