Deleted4363562User
Ok, so this is what I have done. I open the Geck. I load an interior cell. In this case Victor's shack. I choose a container from the object window. In this case FFEC10EnclaveCrateContainer01. And then I rename the Editor ID and name. I then try to drag it over into the cell, but it never visually shows up. It will evenutally, after I save and reload, show up in the object list for the cell, but it never visually appears anywhere. All stock containers and other items I can easily drag and drop into the cell. I must be doing something wrong. I've followed a few guides. Still, I need help. Deleted4363562User
It seems the issue is that the container doesn't have a mesh. None of the guides mention having to assign a mesh to the container. Still stumped.

Still stumped. In that case try a different container.
Deleted4363562User
Ok, I think I have it now. Here's a link to anyone who may need it. http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php?title=Object_Window/Create_Copy
Deleted4363562User
Well, everything was fine and great. Now the GECK won't let me modify the contents of any container. I can only add the 188GeneralStoremisc and nothing else. I literally click on "new" to edit the contents and that's gets put in the container. It did not do that before, so I guess I screwed something up somewhere.
gunslinger6792
At this point I have no idea what you did sorry.
DaemonGrin
When you click on the new go to object drop down menu right below the content window and you can change it from 188general to other things make sure your container has a unique ID as well so you aren't changing every container of that type in game. Jojash
When you click "new" it adds in the "188GeneralStoreMisc" because it's the first item alphabetically. To change it, look for the box entitled "object" and then scroll through that list until you find the object that you want to add. 188GeneralStoreMisc will change accordingly. Alternatively, you can find the item you want in the object window and then drag it into the container with your mouse. As for your first issue, I know it's been resolved, but I figure that I should tell you what happened in case you do it again. I assume you created a new container entirely. To give it a mesh, just find the box entitled "model" and then click on "Edit" from there a window will open up and you need to find a mesh for it. Meshes are generally stored in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\Data\Meshes". Hope this helps! :)

Also if you want to avoid this in the future and all you want is the same model container just make a duplicate of the container in geck and change it's ID to something Unique. Then just edit the contents. Good Luck,Geoff

I knew it was listed alphabetically. Nonetheless, I had to have done something to screw up the process. Even after selecting 'new', when I tried to change the 188GeneralStoreMisc, I couldn't. I know it was something silly I did. At this point though I have no idea. Thanks to everyone for the help, seriously.
