wfandrews
I have had this problem for some time so I finally decided to see if anyone had any suggestions as to how I find a cause. When I am doing the Companion quest Bloods Honor I always stop by Moss Mother Cavern to get Valdr's Lucky Dagger. I do this on every play through, as I am one of those people who is constantly starting a new game this is relatively often. I have validated game files, created a vanilla game a few times to start a new game and the same thing happens every time I enter Moss Mother Cavern so I am fairly certain it is not mod related. Moss Mother Cavern is also the only interior cell it has ever happened in, or exterior for that matter. What happens is my fps will suddenly drop to single digits for ten or so seconds and then go back to normal. This will happen five or ten times in the Cavern. I can complete the quest every time with a little patience which is why I just lived with it as it is a long way from game breaking. After this last time I decided to see if anyone had similar occurrence any where or if anyone had any idea how to find the cause. As I said I do not believe it is mod related though I can give you the mod order of my current game if you think that is relevant.
anjenthedog
I don't know for sure, but at a guess, it's the atronachs (as I recall there are two or three there). Not exactly sure why, but their buffs and attacks make my game hiccup (stall very briefly). There's another cavern where there are several and I get the same sort of hiccups
freddark
The one time my FPS tanked was long ago when I had RS Children installed without xpmse for RSC. Everytime I entered Honorhall Orphanage my FPS will drop to single digits. It came back to normal after installing xpmse for RSC. Your problem may be similar. A bad skeleton or mesh, manually installed that you forgot about? Hope this helps.
wfandrews
I don't know for sure, but at a guess, it's the atronachs (as I recall there are two or three there). Not exactly sure why, but their buffs and attacks make my game hiccup (stall very briefly). There's another cavern where there are several and I get the same sort of hiccupsActually there are three Sprigans which you must kill to clear the cavern, complete the quest and get Valdr's Lucky Dagger. Although you certainly may have something there as I cannot recall any other interior cell that has Sprigans; not sure if that is one "g" or two. I guess I could test that if I knew of another interior cell that had hostile Sprigans in it. If it was the Sprigans is there something I could do about it? I appreciate your replies and if you know of another interior cell that has Sprigans in it let me know.
showler
Cave north of Whiterun, near where the road turns right toward Windhelm. One Sprigan outside, two inside.
