Skyrim SE & Anniversary Edition Update

okay, thanks ... but it is some MOD that caused the black screen, coz now I can load a saved game ... with only 1/3 of MODs loaded ... so far. Guess I'll have to continue tomorrow to do the boring, slow going work to add couple MODs at the time until I catch the one(s) that cause it ...

If anybody has a faster way, I'm all ears ... eyes :-)

Yeah this might be the only appropriate route. I'll be waiting big time for SKSE to work with the latest version of Skyrim AE - then come back to the game... What a weird way to stop playing Skyrim...

Updated it, and even if I try to change the .exe to the previous, it seems to have done it's damage... Dammit Todd...

MO2 has a view SKSE reliant mods feature - which would save you a heap of issues - if you use it. This update seems to be a case of "We are "giving" you a new house to live in - but you have to live in it while we build it, and your old layout and decorations won't fit either"

Been working with trial and error method … without really knowing what the H… I’m doing and this is the result. I’m sure my load order isn’t the most correct one, but … it has worked, so “Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke!” right?

I’m not listing any of the MODs I disabled, not sure which of ‘em didn’t work, sort of lost track of what worked and not. It’s very sneaky, the game saves and loads okay, but if You quit to the home screen and start from scratch it’s the Black Screen all over again #”¤¤&¤#& … and to try to do this without really understanding the mechanics behind the MODs is, is … well it’s not b… easy, I can say that much add to that the difficulty to log in to the MODs section (a bit easier this morning) … well it’s frustrating to say the least. So I probably “cut” some MODs that didn’t cause the black screen … Got tired, I just want to play the “#%#”% game and not tinker with stuff, that’s why X-Box and not PC.

I think those work on X-Box One … well at least they don’t cause the Black Screen, again, I hope. If they actually still work or not I can’t say, because I’ve only tested them as far as to Helgen keep’s first room … if anything ain’t changing I should be able to start a new game (was level 98 before this C… happened) and enjoy it

Just a general thing that I will note. If you've gone through every tutorial you can find, and still have not had the success to get your game working. Then I'd advise doing a system back up on your device (only if you can afford to do so, and only if you have the required back up). This was the only way I could get Skyrim working again, and honestly, I'd say it was worth it (but then again, we're talking many, many hours put into modding & playing)...

If you do decide to do this, then please make sure that you're disabling automatic updates on Steam, and have it set to 'Update when open' - after doing so, you will just need to make sure you NEVER run the game through Steam, and be sure to create a ZIP of the entire Skyrim SE folder in your Steam folder. This is just for extra caution, so you will have an additional back up of your original folder.

Thanks :-) .. yeah, suspected as much. Many of the CC MODs are not only not worth my money, but I don't want them in my game world ... and as far as I know one can't turn them off, well not on X-Box anyway, ppl on PC may have more options. Mostly wondered if it did something else besides the CC MODs.

... and yeah I usually buy every "new" version as well, but all the CC stuff I didn't want kept me from doing it this time :-D
