ericjmz
I took the plunge (deleted everything), Installed Skyrim Anniversary edition(I was thinking of replaying Skyrim coincidentally anyway, so what the heck) I have 3 questions vis-à-vis mod playing; would like thoughts/opinions, please Any reason NOT to uses the preliminary build on skse (a MUST for me as I use SKYUI…its spoiled me and will not play Skyrim without it)? Let’s say he updates SKSE twice in the 2 weeks after I start playing: any harm whatsoever in rewriting over older skse? My common sense tells me to NOT start out with any ‘Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch’ (when its updated anniversary released); ditto the “Unofficial Skyrim Creation Club Content Patches” (when its updated Anniversary is released); but my ‘Skyrim sense has been to ALWAYS consider these 2 mandatories. Which approach is correct? In the past I’ve never deleted/uninstalled any mod, so as not to create a baked-in save error. Thought that to be an established truism. But my question is, as I’m considering starting with no mods (excepting skse) is it a problem to ADD mods as the game goes along? For example, lets say I’m up to level 10, and all of a sudden decide to add-in Books glow…or Immersive armor…or a quality world map…or whatever? Does ADDING IN a mod that was not present bake-in a save game error? Thanks everyone eric
Windscion
Adding in mods step by step is considered a best practice. With, obviously, exceptions for mods that want/need to be used with a new game.
Hanaisse
1. No reason not to use the "AE" version of SKSE. It will probably continue to be updated for awhile as things crop up but it's safe to update into an existing game. 2. USSEP has already been updated for "AE". The CC patch is being worked on, maybe hold off on that. 3. It's safe to install new mods into your existing game at any time.
ericjmz
Windscion- great answer: I'm starting today: look out skeevers...I think you are about to meet your level 1 match! for the record practically every mod I've ever used says the expression 'want/need to be used with a new game' :pirate:
ericjmz
Hanaisse- thank you for your reply; I'm going to start with NO patches; I just find it hard to have faith that a < 1 week old 'patch', even as important one as USSEP, has been TESTED ENOUGH to determine its both NEEDED and BETTER than the newest Skyrim update......not to mention it will then brake or possibly brake the CC mods (which i have all). I hope I am correct in that logic.thank you
showler
AE is just a new update to SE. Pretty much all of the pending fixes the USSEP team were working on were still needed. Most of the stuff they did that was specific to the AE update was removing their fixes for things Bethesda finally got around to fixing.
