Slaiv
As you may or may not know, the MEMod for Morrowind was recently cancelled, due to copyright and legal issues. We, as the Tatooine Modification Team, have decided, after much deliberation, that we were essentially violating the same laws, and as such, we have determined to halt production in order to prevent future legal action against Geonox and the rest of the team, as well as to respect the intellectual properties of those holding them. Geonox announced today: I would like to say some things. First of all I want to thank everyone who helped me out with this great mod. It would have been great to see the mod when it's finished but because of the copyright laws it's better that we stop this mod. This means that I have decided to work no longer on this project. I would like to thank you for all your efforts and time which you put in this mod. There are some great new ideas for another mod, which includes my Nirrera and Dahrjiin. More on this will be revealed later when there are serious plans about the storyline etc. The mod will get an special look which is totally different than morrowind, but it will fit in the morrowind world. It will be more futuristic since both of the races are a lot more advanced. Please keep on checking the forums because we will release more information about this project as soon as we can. I hope to continue with the same team on this mod but that will be your choice. Regards, Geonox As of now, the team is not planning on disbanding or falling apart. We currently are in the planning stages for another TC type mod. Thank you for all those who have given suggestions and praise, and for your support. Sincerely, the Tatooine Modification for Morrowind Team: Geonox ExarXan Slaiv Cid88 GreyFox Rhile_Nova UberBender Websoul
valdir
NO! You cannot be serious. What the hell are people doing? Make the mod, if they tell you to stop, then STOP. GAH! Copyright laws... killing two birds with one big *f-word* boulder. ~Valdir, the very unhappy man. :veryangry:
Slaiv
Well, I mailed the Star Wars Business Inquiries office, they haven't gotten back to me.... Geonox made the project, so Geonox closed the project. After our next project, however, I'll try to convince them to make a "similar" mod :shifty: . I'm pretty sure you'll like our ideas for our next mod though....
Kaningutten
Where's the f-ing freedom in this world? Everybody says it's here, but has anyone really seen it? Hope you get a positive response from SWBIO, but what are the chances of that? Durned greedy b*st*rds... :veryangry:
Commander 598
Everyone panics... Memod probably could have gone on any nobody(With any legal powers) probably would have noticed or cared. Same thing with this mod. Besides the number of SW mods i've seen in the past shows how much they care.
DreamOfTheRood
We now have two teams of incredibly gifted programmers with cancelled projects, and I say ... great! Both of these mods looked wonderful, but they also looked like things I'd seen before. You had a Star Wars game and a Middle-Earth game, and we've all played those games before. What you all need to do is get together and write something new, something powerful that is going to blow people away. Then, build that game. I know you all can write a good plot between the 517 of you, and I know you all can program the Knights of Columbus out of any other team.So ... do it. UberBender
I'm sure we would make a great mod/game if we worked together! ^_^ But I'm not sure we can all work as one team, we have two different genres that we want to work with, sci-fi for us (Tatooine Mod team) and medival (sp?) for the MEMod team. Good idea though!
Slaiv
It would be a dream to work with the MEMod..... but I'm not so sure it will happen. We now have two teams of incredibly gifted programmers with cancelled projects, and I say ... great! Both of these mods looked wonderful, but they also looked like things I'd seen before. You had a Star Wars game and a Middle-Earth game, and we've all played those games before. [Hint]METeam - we're available; at least I am :P . I'm pretty sure the rest of the team would be enthralled to help, but that's up to them.[/Hint] Actually, my devotion goes first to the TM Team, since I'm already with them..... If we were to combine.... :P

adamized01
The tatooine mod only could have been considered a infringement of copyrights if the graphics were directly copied from any of the movies or copyrighted products. Also it certainly wouldn't be legal to make money from it (however if it was freely offered then it there wouldn't be any such problems, unless the copyright holders were really nasty). So it's not really likely that they would have had a problem and should have continued development!
