rizon72
To think that we are alone in all of the universe is arrogant of us, even in our galaxy. If we were to meet a race that is even a hundred years more advanced than us, the things they know would be tremendous. And if they were several thousand, their knowledge would make our smartest person appear as an idiot. Science has only scrapped the surface of the knowledge of the universe.Personally, I think there is life out there, including intelligent, and some of that life is much more advanced than us. If they have visited, and not made contact, then the reasoning isn't for us to question.
Vagrant0
Why would aliens need to have some sort of weaponry? Because if we assume that life is plentiful, then violence would also be plentiful as violence is derived from survival instincts while any race evolved to a point of technology. Prey animals generally have a much smaller brain and cannot focus on singular tasks since they need to constantly watch for predators. Predator animals however have generally larger brains, both from their diet of fatty meat, and because they are actively engaged with outsmarting those things they hunt. Predatory brains are naturally designed toward innovating around challenges. That said, even if a large portion of this violent life made itself extinct before being able to travel the stars, there would still be some who managed to make it either by building a stable government before that stage of technology, or by coming to some understanding as a species in the face of mutually assured destruction. Meaning that there would still be violent races out there unless there was some sort of pacifist alien council out there that would just eradicate those violent races before they became a threat... In which case those pacifist races would likely still need some sort of weaponized technology to do the eradicating (even in the form of mass drivers to steer comets). If alien life doesn't have a means to defend itself... Then it hasn't visited us. For if it had visited, we would have probably stolen their technology, adapted it to our own needs, conquered their worlds, and probably made a solid effort toward breeding those aliens to be more tasty. Because that's what we do.
Thor.
Found something alien related in HD for once :D I think this may explain a lot, they claim the ancients where indeed a lot more advanced then they realized, do to one particular discovery on a ship wreck. I say don't under estimate our own kind. Edited August 17, 2013 by Thor.

Thor.
More alien stuff, this case a USO all in HD for your viewing pleasure Edited August 17, 2013 by Thor.
Vagrant0
Need to stop posting this rubbish. USO stuff is clearly either miniatures or CGI (set to music). Video compilation also doesn't show anything meaningful since almost all of those were either hoaxes, traceable to other phenomena, or the usual blurry useless images. Ancient Aliens is an outright pile of bullcrap. Of course they're going to find people to say "uh, early humans didn't have this technology, so aliens"... The name of the show implies that they are wanting to put forward a specific view in the matter. Anyone with a little background in geology could pretty much tell you that any culture which had access to precious gems and the shaping of those gems would also be able to carve granite. Ancient cultures were quite capable of carving stone to precision, without the aid of some higher being to show them the way. Afterall, stone was almost all they had to work with and they had plenty of time to fashion it. Unfortunately, the average person is usually oblivious to how well ancient cultures worked stone, could carve tools and ornaments from jade, or whole temples from the side of a mountain... So is quick to accept that early man was just too savage and simplistic to figure these things out on their own.
Thor.
HA HA, Typical vagrant0 response, maybe you can give us some hard evidence that aliens do not exist, instead of debating the facts :D try to counter my evidence with yours, see how it clashes  I like a skeptic, but a skeptic without anything to hold on to is a skeptic that i don't believe his words hold merit  I have a lot of content to prove my theory, but do you  I need some real concrete evidence Vagrant0  Edited August 18, 2013 by Thor. As for aliens helping our ancestors again there is no evidence, these people had the tools, they knew mathematics and had a lot of manpower, why would aliens help them build things they were perfectly capable of building themselves? Asking Vagrant to prove the nonexistence of something that doesn't exist is silly, it's like saying Glenn Miller is alive and living on Pluto and then asking people to prove he isn't.
