Orvus Dren/Plantation/Slavery/Bas---ds!

On the way to Suran last night, I found Orvas Dren's Plantation. They raise Netches there and must sell their skin for profit. Netch leather is very flexible, yet tough. There is a good market for it. Dren's plantation, like most Dunmer plantations, "employs" slaves. I found a note on a slavemaster's desk and read it. The slavemaster was being complimented on her "disciplinary" methods with the slaves, which are Kajit and Argonian races. The b---ch actually takes pride in her work! The netch plantation is somewhat of a front, however. I prowled around some crates and barrels around town and they are stocked with moon sugar and skooma-- MW contraband of choice. The slaves are miserable, as are their "masters." They were none too friendly with me, particlarly the owner of the plantation, Orvas Dren himself. I learned through different sources that he has direct and powerful ties to the Commona Tong, the MW equivalent of the mob.

I couldn't take Dren or any of his goons on-- I'm not strong enough yet. I felt sorry for the slaves, but I had work to do for Eridyis Fire-Eye in Suran. So I left. However, on the way I found a escaped slave-- Hur, a sorry-looking Argonian. Poor guy. He said he was horribly mistreated at the Dren Plantation and was looking for a local Redguard who was supportive of escaped slaves. I agreed to help him find his contact.

I swear that one day, I am going to return to the Dren Plantation and set the slaves free. When I do, Orvas Dren had better get on his knees and pray to every Dunmer god there is because all hell will break loose. When I'm done with him, there'll be nothing left of him to carry into the netherworld.

You voice my own reaction so eloquently! Do you know about the plugin that gives you a master slave key? Thanks to Malchik, I now have it. It can free virtually all slaves you encounter. I haven't actually used it yet because first I have to go to Suran to get it, and it's in a box with a 100 lock level. What a dilemma, eh?

The name of the plugin is "MorrowindFixes" and it's downloadable from mw summit. Be sure to read the ReadMe file and let me/us know what happens!

I found your Argonian also. He isn't so "poor" as you will see when he helps you in your next fight. If you don't find his red guard right away, he'll follow you forever. Sort of like the naked Nord, but more powerful (I think). If you do find his red guard... hmmm, I won't spoil it for you. B)

Good suggestion, but I have MW for XBox.

  • 3 weeks later...
Orvas Dren and others on the plantation are used in quests for both Morag Tong and Thieves Guild as well as House Hlaalu/Main quest. I wouldn't whap their butts just yet. There will be time later!

:Warning: post may contain possible not-to-important spoilers.

The funny thing is, in those quests that involve them, they are...''expendable'' if you know what I mean... B) So basically, if you really got tired of Drens oppresion you could just... ''expend'' them and not COMPLETELY screw up the quest. At least, thats what I did and I never had a problem. Although, once everyone was...''expended'' it took my character 3 days to move all the valuables out of the plantation. There is alot of good stuff in there... :)

So you're saying to basically kill off all the slaves, right? Well, what kind of goodies do you get by killing them? They are dirt poor-- it's Dren that's got the goods, and he's not easy to pick off.

Also, I don't want to kill the slaves-- I want to set them free, which was my main point of this thread.

I guess I don't understand.

orvas dren and his cronies are very hardcore, but just getting the loot off their bodies is so worth it, one of the guys has a dadric dai katana, there are some daedric greaves, other daedric weapns of sorts, and all this hardcore armour!

but i have never killed any of them before, i left that to my brother, on his game.....
