Yossarian22
Hello I've been watching this for a while now. This counts for Mods like Alexscorpions Sniper Gear that gets downratings nearly every day, enclave commander, weapon mods kit, the settler, UF3 Six Female Bodies and a lot of other great mods and two times for my own mod. If you dont like a mod, just give it a pass, but dont rate just coz you dont like to see it popular or more popular then a mod you prefer more. I really ask myself whats wrong with you people. We working for YOU, to extend YOUR Playing experiance and we do this all without charge. And all of us spend mostly a lot of time for doing this stuff. For me I already will not release any mod again, that permitts ratings at all and this rating system really needs a Rework. Maybe some people just prefer to play Fallout 3 Vanilla by driving away skilled modders from this plattform? Or maybe they want mod on their own and show all of us their skills? Thanks for the Admins here, that do a good job, but why you have to keep them busy? Just show the people, who try to make you a better Fallout the respect they deserve. I hope to speak in the Name of all Modders of this Community. Thanks for Attention.

I hope to speak in the Name of all Modders of this Community. Thanks for Attention. I second this, and i try to cover it in every readme I write, Just because it is not a MOD you personally with play through ; or for what ever reason you do not like a MOD the rating is supposed to be used based on How well that modder portrays what he/she is trying to prtray. NOT wether or not you will be using a mod personally. A snipit for my Viktrika Readme fileIf you DO NOT want to be followed around by a MIDGET! (little person) then do NOT and i repeat again DO NOT install this MOD, you have been forewarned that the content is slightly adult in nature (given the adult theme of having a midget follow you around), and the aurthor of this mod will not get into a psychological debate on the usage of the terms or liknesses of the word or images of the said midget (little person). Basically if you have some unresolved issue with having a midget follow you then do not waste my time, with your ethical debates... I simply do not care what you think nor will you sway my opinion in the matter. =====I hope that deters some or the flamers if not all in the fact that i dont care what you believe but i live in AMERICA where i am FREE to believe what i want (due to an over oppressive society or not) so back off and keep your ideas on what is right and wrong and ethical and unethical to yourself and Rate the mod for what it is rather then what it protray's If you misuse the ratings system, or rate mods in this way then you should learn to do the stuff yourself and do the better job that you think you can. Dark0ne
If you believe people are deliberately rating down mods in ways that are agains the ToS then you should report them to the moderators of the site using the reporting tools provided. Moderators will investigate the issue. The rating system is in line for an overhaul that will see it replaced by a system similar to the Image Share rating system. It's quite a major change, however, and there are some other, smaller issues I'd like to address/add before I get around to doing it. Most noteably a new "Videos" tab :)

It is just one more thing that takes your time from working on the things to better the site. If you are playing the game you should be "Mature" enough to police your self in such posts. however there are just some out there that see the ratings system as a means to troll certain users or MODs they personally do not like. I always use the report system and it works really good and the moderators here work very quick. I just hoping the people would understand it themself to keep your time for more important things. I think ratings should only given for 3 things: 1. Amount of Work2. Amount of Bugs or not3. Do what it says or not Everything else is very much a personal taste. I would like to see a rating system that is more categorized go give people a bit more thinking about the ratings they give. But many, as riven said, just want to see their personal mods in the top ten like it's a sport event here. Thats really annoying. I dont see a difference between the quality of any of the Top 50 Mods, so maybe just show the Top 50 in Alphabedic Order, this would help much to keep Trolls away. I wouldn't mind seeing a more poll oriented system really have a few sections in it that you rate on a 1-5 or 1-10 on each sectionlike take GTS for example; *Does what the modder intended* 1 2 3 4 5 *Ease of install/Use* 1 2 3 4 5 *Overall Quality* 1 2 3 4 5 *Interest* 1 2 3 4 5 *Etc Etc* BTW Yoss in this example you would get 9's down the board hehe (i don't give out 10's unless it fills a personal request)
lars123456789
Isn't there something about you have to write something when you rate?. Cause then there's probably also a rule about the rater having to put in some constructive critisism against the mod. But that would also take a hell of a time for the moderators to go through of course, but if you have to write some contructive critiscism i don't see a problem... I also amn't a modder myself of course :P.

The rating should be for if the mod works as intended, if there are any bugs, etc.. I'm all for personal comments just so long as the rating isn't based off personal preference. Personal comments are good as they can give the modder something to think about what people may like to see or not and what peaople may be looking for in a mod. What bothers me about the rating system, this site, and Bethesda modding in general, is what friggin' wimps so many people are. If someone gives a crummy mod a 5, maybe it's because it's a crummy mod? Sigh. Everyone is a special snowflake and can do no wrong, I guess. sumoftwosins
As with everyone else here, I have to agree. I hate how people give bad rep's to mods, games, movies, books, and any other creative piece a bad rap because it isn't what they want or like. You see it with movies all the time. You have a person who loves romance movie watch Rambo 4, it is obvious from the get go that they will not like the type of movie.... but that doesn't change the skill used by the people employed to bring a creative piece to life. There are things that I am not a fan of, but that doesn't limit me from lending my respect for someone's attention to detail or devotion in any project. Comments should be used if you want to rant or provide a biased opinion. Ratings should be reserved to evaluated a reflect the creators ability to deliver. -- As for the mod file system, diversified ratings are good. I'd like to see a links section and a simple blog option. Yes we can add comments to our mods about progress, but it sometimes get lost in the rest of the comments. I am bad about skimming. So an ability to provide multiple ratings, a tab for developers to post progress, and a tab for associated links.
