LiiTheBaddie
When you upload a mod you are shown 3 input fields for mod category, First one is the ones the site shows to users and they can sort mods by. The next 2 are user suggested ones. What does it take for the user suggested ones to become an actual category on the site? I make patches for Horizon for Fallout 4 and I've been tagging them with the Horizon Patch Category but they only ever show as just Patches. When you go to select it as a category it shows that there are 180 mods that want that category. So why doesn't Horizon get a category? When something like poses has way less and is an official category?

However, if there's already an existing category that covers the use case, it's unlikely to be approved.
Pickysaurus
I've just had a quick look and Fallout 4 has 18 pages of suggested categories, a majority of them being pretty useless (either misspellings of existing categories or people confusing that field for one of the other ones on the page). I'm not really sure Horizon needs it's own categories, but perhaps a tag might be sensible?
Zorkaz
If you create a new category (E.g. Fallout 4 - Vehicles), do the admins themselves put the mods into the right category or do you leave it to the authors?

Unlike tags - which can be community voted - categories can only be set by the author or a moderator.

If the number of mods that picked the horizon patches category in the drop down is right it has the same number as Sim settlements and that gets a category. but w/e a tag is at least better than nothing

I actually have been hoping to do a mass cleanup of categories for the Bethesda games but with everything else that is going on here it's not something I have the time for.
