UglyDucklingStudios
Alright so I'm making a hat for my mod and I need to put milk bottles on the side of the hat (like those hats you drink from). http://i.imgur.com/MAwfK3Z.jpgBut for some stupid reason it puts the bottles on the side of the players head http://i.imgur.com/WIcu9qR.pngEven though it looks like that in NifSkope Any ideas why this would happen and how to fix it? If so please tell me I would greatly appreciate it.
ArekkusuStorm
Hmm, could be the vertex groups that need adjusting (if you use blender), that or you could try setting the parent for the bottles as the hat. UglyDucklingStudios
I don't know much about NifSkope but I did think about that. Didn't know how to though so how would I go about doing that?
ArekkusuStorm
I think this is how it's done, I usually do the parenting in my modelling program. Keep a backup just in case.Right click the NiTriShape for the bottle under its NiNode and go to Block > copy, then go to the hat's NiNode, right click > Block > Paste, go back to the bottle's NiNode > Block > Remove. UglyDucklingStudios
I had done that but it puts the milk bottle block outside of the NiNode tree. Is it supposed to do that or is it supposed to put it under the hat's tree?
ArekkusuStorm
It's suppose to go under the hat's tree.. hmm. Did you right click the NiNode instead of the NiTriShape under it to paste? Because that could be one of the reasons why it went outside. Edit: Whoops missed a few words. Edited August 18, 2013 by ArekkusuStorm
UglyDucklingStudios
I right clicked the NiTriStrips that is connected to the hat but it just puts it outside of NiNode
ArekkusuStorm
That's why I said right click the NiNode, not the NiTriShape/Strip to paste. http://imageshack.us/a/img19/61/umfc.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img838/5466/vs2m.jpghttp://imageshack.us/a/img841/1341/80zr.jpg Edited August 18, 2013 by ArekkusuStorm
UglyDucklingStudios
Here is the full tree for the hat in NifSkopehttp://i.imgur.com/pxYPsZh.png(this is without me copying the branches) And the hat doesn't have a separate NiNode so I don't know where I'm supposed to be copying to. jazzisparis
1. In the Block Details of the NiTriStrips (of each bottle), double-click on Name, and change the value to 3.2. Right-click the NiTriStrips branch of each bottle, then Transform > Apply. Save, and it should be working properly now.
