Halororor
16 dead in school shooting Winnenden - The death toll in Wednesday's school shooting in Germany has risen to 16, including the 17-year-old masked gunman, nine pupils, three teachers and three passers-by, an official said. The former pupil, named so far only as Tim K, went on the rampage at his former school at Winnenden near the southern city of Stuttgart before being shot in a fire-fight with police about 40km away. The latest toll was given by Heribert Rech, the interior minister of the Baden-Wuerttemberg. - AFP Source Quite sad really. Happening all the more often and all that comes of it is people blame violent games and movies and the real problems don't get addressed at all. Monolithic0117
I've heard the "encouraged by video games" excuse a hundred times. More than half of the time, it's from psychologic problems. It's quite disgusting, really.
katklaw
I would have to agree with you Monolithic0117 You only have to look in to thier home life. I bet that this kid had a very bad upbringing or bad experience in his life that caused a detachment from reality or had some sort of chemical inbalace that caused anxiety which was left untreated. Throwing out the "gaming is the blame" is a load of rubbish. Now it looks like he bought a semiautomatic weapon............How did he do this?........and why did his family have no control or knowledge of the weapon? SourceLooks like the kid's dad belonged to a gun club and kept 16 guns or so at home, and one of the weapons were reported to be missing. EDIT: Halororor beat me to it... AzirAphale001
This kind of thing is becoming increasingly common. People blame video games because they don't want to admit that they havn't given their child a very good upbringing. The last one I heard about was a boy that shot his parents and the media blamed Halo 3.

Michlo
Shouldn't we actually wait to see if they do blame games before jumping all over it? Not all of these gun-men have had the bad upbringings you speak of, either.
Halororor
Eventually somebody somewhere is going to blame games. It's always just a matter of time. And it's usually Counter-Strike that get's all the blame...
Skotte
Eventually somebody somewhere is going to blame games. It's always just a matter of time. And it's usually Counter-Strike that get's all the blame... I thought it was Doom that typically got the blame specifically. & Michlo is right it's not always a bad upbringing sometimes they have a mental problem
