Alixen
I'm actually trying to make it as though a character has lost a hand in a fight, as a roleplaying moment of drama and a handicap. In Morrowind this was easy, as you could just make an invisible glove, and clothes weren't hollow. Has anyone accomplished this even by accident, and can anyone suggest how I might do this? Glitchipedia
I would imagine you have to take whatever hand mesh you're using and replace only one of the hands with a matching glove. While technically both hands are still being replaced, this will create the illusion that only one is covered.
Alixen
The problem there is it would happen to all NPCs too, aside from the issue that its beyond my skill. I need something that can be done in the toolset, or at most deleting bits in Nifscope. If I open the leather gloves mesh file, delete the right hand piece by piece, and then assign it as a ring in the toolset, would that work? Or would it simply make the right hand disappear at best? I'm having to ask rather than try, because i don't have access to my Oblivion atm. Plus, if I can get experianced knowledge, it saves me messing around fruitlessly for the next several days. Glitchipedia
....I think you misinterpreted what I said. You don't set my suggested mesh as a body part, you set it as a new set of gauntlets. Assigning it as a ring wouldn't work too well, because while NPCs can only wear specific rings on one hand or the other, the player can wear any ring on either hand, so there's a chance you'd get a left glove on your right hand. Besides that, there's probably numerous other problems I don't know about. I'll give it a try as soon as I have access to a glove mesh.
Alixen
Ah, my mistake sorry, just showing my inexperience apparently. :) I'd appreciate any help, so please let me know how it goes, i've been tinkering but thus far no luck aside from a pair of gloves that remove both hands. With creative angles on screenshots it works to display a stump, but no good for overall useage.
