surian
Well, those of you who saw the debate, let's discuss it. As I write this the debate is still going on so wait til it's over before we start in on it.
Eiade
Just for the record, Bush looks funny when he's off-camera  .
Veritas
I think it's clear that Kerry won. He is definitely the better debater, however he still has a long way to go in order to beat Bush.
surian
I thought that Bush came off farily well though. I think Kerry did a damn good job of getting his point accross but Bush held his ground. Bush also showed a "softer" side which was unexpected when he talked about Kerry personally. I know it's all politics (litterally) but it was nice to see some civility displayed for once in this campaign that has been non-stop mudslinging. postaldudeleo
No one actually cared what they said cause today on cnn all they did was talk about who dressed and dresses better........................... I think Kerry won but bush did good and dressed better. His outfit apparently adds 25% to his populartity apparently as thats what cnn said and they are never wrong. Also aim news seconds that statement :) :bleh:
surian
LOL, I listened to it on NPR so I had absolutely no idea what each person was wearing. It seems that the "talking heads" on the news have put Kerry as the "winner" of the debate though. I guess I can agree with that. Although Bush seemed to be quite in control of his thoughts for once. Peregrine
Kerry lost and lost badly. Why? He might have "won", but he didn't win nearly enough. Like it or not, Kerry is losing. He's losing in the polls, and his campaign is an absolute disaster. Kerry needed an absolutely amazing performance in the debate, and he didn't give it. Everyone knows Bush is a terrible speaker. We knew it four years ago, and we know it now. Say what you want about his on-camera appearance, but he can't damage himself anymore with it. Anyone who wouldn't vote for him over it made that decision years ago. But he stated his positions, and didn't embarass himself badly. The debate isn't going to hurt Bush and that's all he needed to get out of it. Kerry on the other hand, needed to improve his image and his position. But he didn't do it. Far too often, his position was simply "I mostly agree with Bush, but I'd do better." That isn't impressing anyone. He isn't winning any of the undecided voters with weak statements like that, and he sure isn't convincing any Bush supporters to change sides. Even worse, Kerry seemed to be trying to maintain his reputation for indecisiveness. When asked about Iraq, he insisted on international support. But when North Korea was mentioned, suddenly his position became that we should do it regardless of international support. That's about the worst thing he could have done! End result: Bush holds his lead over Kerry, and Kerry lets yet another opportunity to win votes slip through his incompetent fingers.
postaldudeleo
True. But the funny thing is that people make fun of Bush more but they still all vote for him as im voting for him also. The problem with Kerry is that his main campaign purpose is to just rile up people support to him by making good speeches but he can't really back up those words with action. You all know this but agian, he himself voted in congress to war. Then he said war is bad. Then he said its horrible. Then he said it's bad but its good to do it. Then he said its good then its bad then both at this debate................ I just wonder how far his party's trend continues. Anyone bet that he will say war is good then bad then good then bad agian in some speech. So to sum it up. Bush is a shitty speaker -3Kerry is a good speaker +2Bush sticks to whatever decision he makes +1kerry talks poo -10Bush has a better commitee members +1Kerry has half good half bad commitee memebers -1Bush dresses better +1?Kerry has plain outfit +-1?Kerry can rebound bush's comments +15But he then goes back and rebounds his own comments and switches back and forth between opinions of his dumbass party -100 So in summary: Bush sucks.Kerry cant amke up his mind.Independent rule, oh my bad, they suck too. I vote tic-tac for president
DreamOfTheRood
Tic-tac ... ha ha! That's a good one. Maddox strikes again. I pretty much agree with Peregrine. I think Bush showed far more humanity than Kerry did, as Kerry's only concern was to make Bush look bad, despite agreeing with him on most points. The one thing that Bush didn't do that he almost always does is walk into the room as if he owned the place. He didn't come off as cocky as he usually does, and I think people mistook that for a weakness. His initial reaction to each of Kerry's attacks was to defend himself rather than point out the inconsistencies of Kerry's own statements. By now, I think it's safe to say that Kerry has as little to do with this election as is actually possible. This election is entirely about Bush; you're either voting for him or voting against him, but you're not voting for Kerry.
postaldudeleo
Thats the most logical thing ive heard so far excpet for that soem people are voting for kerry because of his stuff. Thats right, old people are voting for Kerry!!!!!!!!!! My grandma apparently cares more about the fact that kerry's party might add a few bucks to her 1.5k senior citizen monthly pension and bring it up to 1.505k. So 5 bucks a month can make you decide on who to vote. Old people say yes.............................  :o <_< :help: Oh yeah another thing, have you guys heard what claims parties have put up to bash thier oponents? The news is littered with that, vietnam servage, purple hearts, fake documents, and some more bullshit I forget. I think we can expect something radical as it nears november. To give an example when I mean bullshit claims: ("bobby" turns on Tv) Hello this an ad paid for by the ________ party. You have been lied to, if you are voting for _________, then you are voting for a bunny mass-murderer. We have evidence that _______ goes bunny hunting. It is a sport in which thousands of cute furry bunnies are imported from around the state and shoved into a cubic meter of fenced of grass. Then the hunter goes hunting the bunnies in the fenced area. This is a horrible sport. Hundreds of bunnies gget killed or injured in this enjoyment. Do you want a sadistic male without a father like ________ being your president? __________ party supports him and they are lying sadistic bastards also. Oh yeah, __________ went to war with false claims and 1700 people died. But arent bunnies people too? THink of the bunnies! Vote _______ not __________. This agian has been paid for by the ____________ party. ("bobby" gets his dads gun and shoots his pet rabit out of frustration because this idiotic commercial has wasted 2 minutes of his worthless life and he's pissed) (FIll in the blanks with any candidate and any party.) My point, no one cares about how shitty our economy is but care more about stupid bullshit like that above for example if this say was aired.
