DuloVokul
So I was using this mod called "Spawn Settler Button" and it suddenly stopped working. I opened it on Nexus to report a bug and I see the mod is deleted. Does anyone know who the uploader is or has used the mod, so I can ask some questions? The button is stuck on ''red''. SnowFox35
If you google the mod online, you can find some reddit threads talking about the same thing. I presume the mod author was named "wim95" and suddenly deleted all of their mods for an unknown reason a few years ago. This is all public information. Are you not allowed to re-upload their stuff, idk... I JUST noticed that "Not Your Average Neon" is deleted. I still have it and its awesome. I feel its a waste for others to not be able to even try it out. Like, you can ask them for permission, but how do you find out who the modder was, when nexus doesnt provide ANY info, except ''mod is deleted''. Hm... HeyYou
Look in the mod archive that you have. There is likely a readme file in there, that may have contact information, permission information, etc. Should at least have the authors Nexus Username in there..... And yes, you DO need explicit permission to upload another authors work here.

Its author's work after all (unless the modder has explicitly stated he's fine with using his work, like m150 says in all his mods.)Anyway, THANK YOU. I will check the readme files, hope they have info there. Edited December 26, 2021 by DuloVokul
wim95
What does the mod do ?A simple Button is added to the Workshop that spawns a Settler once the Button is pressed. The Button can be found in the Special category. It uses the vanilla mechanism to spawn a settler that recruiting beacon uses once it fires. This way there are no compatibility issues and all other mods you have should work fine. A recruitment beacon is not required for this button to work. After build button is yellow - wait for it to turn grey.Gray button - ready to workYellow button - busy, wait for it to turn greyButton remains yellow - button awaits for assign a parameter "workshopID" from workshop scripting systemRed button - Parameter "workshopID" not obtained after 2 minutes. Something went wrong. May be scripting system overloaded, may be "new" settlement not properly registered in workshop scripting systemGreen button - spawning new settler, wait for it to turn greyButton remains green - workshop scripting system do their work (assign new settler to workshop, try assign new settler to job, etc)
