ShinJiOh
Having seen the horse in the pic. that's probably what they meant by faster travel? I mean like you walk up to some guy and you say, I'd like to borrow your horse for 25gp or something. Cause I mean, if you had a horse, could you take it into a dungeon? And if you walked away from it, and if the world is bigger than morrowind... "F*** where'd my horse go? " lol

"F*** where'd my horse go? " lol<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, I believe by faster travel they didn't just mean the horses. They were probably also talking about a more intricate silt-strider type system, although not with silt striders. Most likely carriages or the like. Abramul
There will also be more Mages Guildhalls, no? (Would they all be linked?)
valdir
The faster travel could've been inspired by World of Warcraft's gryphon travel. When Luxar mentioned carriages, that's the first thing I thought of.

ShinJiOh
Wait, wasn't the world only partially in Cyrodill, the rest was in Oblivion.. It would make sense but...ummmm... does anyone have a pic of a map? To judge how big this place is

I can get a map, but we really don't even know how much of Cyrodiil will be in the game. It might just have the island! The Map
ShinJiOh
lol, that would be funny, but where is Oblivion? or is that the point, that Oblivion is Oblivion and that it does not exist. Technically if they did only release an island in it, it's not false advertising
Switch
As far as I know, Oblivion is meant to be an alternate plane of existance where the Daedra come from... sort of like Hell, I suppose.
Slaiv
I'm still waiting for the ultimate Elder Scrolls game - by that, I mean comes on several DVDs, takes upwards of 20 Gb and includes all of Tamriel. :P Oh and about travel: "Right now we're working on our dynamic compass that will show you how close you are to dungeons while wandering the forests or where the person is that you need to talk to make a quest progress," Howard said. They've also altered the way players travel in the world. Technically speaking, the world of Oblivion is actually larger than Morrowind, but as Howard himself pointed out, Bethesda doesn't want "hundreds of hours of gameplay" to consist of a few minutes of fun punctuated by hours of boring traveling. Instead, the game will include a revised fast travel map that will hopefully eliminate a great deal of the annoying repetitive travel over long distances.
