FO3 and FNV mods that go with The Tale of Two Wastelands that you know

Since FNV appeared, I was dreaming of playing FNV and FO3 at once. (When I achieve this - no time now, man - my STALKER ain't gonna see me for quite a while, LOL)

So, I thought of using my mods as well, but after doing some research on the web I understood that not every mod could be used (especially those for FO3).

So, my gaming friend, pls share your experience with FO3/FNV mods that go in this combo.

You're on.

Most should work, because TTW only copies the files from your FO3 directory and packs them into your NV directory. The only issue would probably be things that are altered like the locations of traveling between the games, leveled lists, and of course ironsight and weapon mods (the majority of FO3 weapon mods aren't configured for ADS) but make sure you install the mods you want before you run the TTW installer.

I understand. And pardonez-moi for asking this kind of question, but would any FO3 feature be a problem (FO3MM, FO3 Edit, FOSE...)? For example, I know that in the the previous version of TTW (The Requiem for Capital Wasteland) the FOSE dependent mods were not usable.

Or, even better, is there a list of Dont's for TTW?

Please, answer, I am ALL heated up for it:)

Tales of Two Wastelands is a great thing, but there are some downsides to it.

First one would be that FOSE-dependent mods tend to crap out, some mods like Brisa Almodovar (I like that companion) have optional files providing compatibility for TTW, but most don't. The problem is that some people don't have NV, or they never heard of TTW (since it was removed from the Nexus) or just don't want to bother.

Second problem is that TTW itself is not so stable. Fallout 3 is a separate game, it uses the same engine but some things are different. So then you have bugs, glitches, etc. In order to make the two games run under one, the Fallout 3 content needs to be replaced with NV equivalents, that way you get comaptibility between them since FO3 acts like a NV mod.

Unfortunately, that doesn't always work as expected and results in mods made for FO3 to not function right since the functionality in FO3 has been replaced with a NV equivalent. A simple 10mm pistol, for example, if a mod adds it to FO3, it will be incompatible since it doesn't use NV ammunition. I'm not sure if that has been fixed in later versions, I last used TTW a bit before it got removed from the Nexus.

As for why is there no list of TTW compatible mods, because people don't want to browse through 13,500+ mods there are on the Nexus just to see if it'll work. Plus, it all depends on the mod combination, TTW version used, and so on. There are too many factors to count in in order to make an accurate list of compatible mods.

But I can tell you of a few mods that did work for me (with the latest version of TTW before it was removed for the site and FO3 GOTY) - Apocalypse Armory 1.93 (with some tweaks), Brisa Almodovar (before compatibility patch, wasn't released yet), Fellout, Street Lights and More Map Markers.

I was looking at getting TTW, but I didn't want to mess up my game. Now I'm rethinking that because I bought Fallout 3, but haven't actually played it properly (NV looks so nice with my mods and FO3 looks pretty bad so I got dissuaded). I don't think I'll mod Fallout 3 - I just want to play it with nice graphics, and if I can play it using my set-up of New Vegas, that'll be excellent.

Actually, I might get it now.

EDIT: Lucky I only had a few mods with NV - this installation requires a lot of work. I have no doubt that something will go wrong.

EDIT 2: What. The. Heck.

... It works perfectly. No problems? What is this? MIRACLE LAND?!?!?!

EDIT 3: Lol nope. The Megaton worldspace is glitched (nothing in there except lots of water and dead bodies) and I got a crash when walking across a random bridge. I knew it was too good to be true!
