Gabbemaster
But I think that the way young people of this world 'decay' with their McDonalds and Britney Spears I am one of those "young people of this world", but I don't listen to Britney, and i don't like McDonalds, so don't say "the young people of this world", say "some of the young people of this world". Kaningutten
You've got Sonic in your avatar and in your sig. So, NO I won't change my statement! :bleh: But I think that the way young people of this world 'decay' with their McDonalds and Britney Spears McDonalds and Britney Spears were randomly selected commercial-products which I feel gives a good picture of the desires of most young people these days... Think of it as symbolism if you will! And if you agree with me; that means you're 'clean'... The fact that you disagree might implicate that you feel somehow offended by the statement... And if you're offended; You just might be one of them without knowing it! This disease called commercialism is rarely discovered at early stages. It can lie dormant inside you for many years, then suddenly, one day you realise what has happened, and by then there is no going back! My message in plain words: "Don't just say you're special and follow the flow... BE special and fight the tide!"
Slaiv
Exactly. Which is why I am a skateboarder - not one of those new generation, pansy-a** posers who think they're cool because they wear Volcom and Independent shirts. Rather, I am the old generation - 90's skater trash. Baggy clothing, hooded sweatshirts - all of it. Oh, and because skating's fun. :P It's also why I don't like new music - it's all mainstream, cheap, no-talent bullsh*t for the most part. Give me early 90s grunge, alternative, industrial, trance, no-name bands like the Ernies and Chrome Locust, Dogpiss and Mark Van Dale [a no-name person in the US, not in Europe.]
Kaningutten
Slaiv; Why do you wear baggy clothes and hooded sweatshirts? Was that something you thought of yourself, or did you see another skater wearing it, while listening to grunge, and thought "Man... He looks cool!"? It's what's in your head and your heart that counts, not the clothes you wear or the music you listen to! But that is not to say that music isn't important... I look back in time and remember what music used to be like; They had a purpose back then! Rage Against The Machine, anyone? Now it's all about: "Oh, my boobs are so nice, they were really worth the price!" kinda songs... Trivial matters that noone really cares about except when they're drunk! But seriously, Slaiv; Trance!? Uhm... You really let me down with that one... ;) I myself am more into heavy/gothic/black metal... But I don't need that whole nails and satan image, though! I wear mostly black, true, but if people tell me that I'm a wannabe trying to maintain an image, I just tell them the truth: "I'm twenty-one, I still live at home and I have never bought a single pair of shoes myself... My mother does that for me!" I don't care what other people think about me, and if anyone has a problem with that you can K.M.A! And be sure to vote at the next election, you indifferent bunch of... Er... people! :whistling: And if you want my advice; Watch the Ricki Lake show, and then do the exact opposite of whatever they are doing there! Sorry for going way, way, way off topic. I'll accept my penalty! Though at this point I guess there's nothing else left from Memod than off topic talk...
