I am so proud to say that The Elder Scrolls won the contest, as it always should be.

I still drop a tear everytime I listen to Morrowind's Theme.

The fact GTA IV ran about as well as a dead dog when it was originally ported over to PC doesn't give great hope for a good GTA V port to PC. Here's to hope that Rockstar will make up for crap ports this time around. Edited September 20, 2013 by Deathorgy108

Elder Scrolls didn't deserve to win. Bethesda doesn't work hard enough to clean up bugs and shoddy code. Not by half. Their colossal screw up on the PS3 alone should be enough to boot them out of any competition.

@tacoscent Most of those problems are the result of bloated development costs, 90% of which goes into graphics. These companies failed to budget responsibly and are paying the price now.

FYI, many pirates go on to buy games they honestly enjoyed. Torrents are like demos to them, used to get a feel for the game and if they'd like it. Pirates who NEVER support the devs are a minority, though a very annoying one.

@secretkeeper12 I can vouch for that. I am a pirate, BUT, if I genuinely enjoy a game, I will buy it. For example, fallout new vegas. I added it to my steam wishlist, I pirated it, then when it was half price, I bought it off steam.

You do realize that there can be more than one motivation for an audience or rather different people of that audience to enjoy something? Sorry, but the world isn't as simplistic as that.

Considering how big and how well received a lot of lore-focussed/immersion mods are I dare say that aspect is at least as big as the other aspects.

TES, since Skyrim isn't the only TES game in this decade. As for porn mods, I've no idea, since it doesn't come with the stock game, I don't consider it at all. Therefore it's no con at all and can't be used against TES in favour of GTA. It would be different if Beth themselves shelved the porn, instead of users, then the complaint would have merit. Unless you are talking that the CK itself is bad and should be taken away...but that is a completely different discussion. Edited September 22, 2013 by Rethrain

2nd Amalur failed not because of pirates(lol) because 38 studios was horribly mismanaged
