Ozimandias
apart from some special rules for various races i search everywhere. has anyone else found the report about shooting arrows too hi? If i kill something/one i cleanup my mess a take everything. I use or sell most of it, and if i don't want to carry it back ti town i stash it in a suitable container. ie. no armour in a burial urn no battle axe in a strong box. for every bandit that i kill, i leave 5 gold at a temple or shrine as penance and for funeral costs. ozi
Jeir
At first, I generally only take things worth over 40g. When my inventory gets full, then I drop less-expensive things for more expensive ones. But, I do have a habit of always collecting alchemy ingredients, even though I never bother with alchemy. Sometimes collect pelts and things, but not often. Never bother with urns, as at most you get some bonemeal, maybe a soulgem, and maybe a couple of coins. Ryker61
When I first started playing Skyrim, and this same thing applys to Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, I took everything that wasn't nailed down. I looted every corpse, picked every potion ingredient, mined every ore vein, and looted every container. But lately, I've started being more selective as to what I take. If the item has a value of 0 gold or 1 gold, I don't take because their not worth anything. Weapons, cloths, armor, and books have unquestionable value. I keep one of every armor, clothing, weapon, and book, and I keep all of the crafting ingredients and all of the food. If I go over my weight capacity, I store what I can leave behined in a nearby chest and return later to collect it. RatcatcherOfKvatch
The Ratcatcher's Looting Flowchart: Is its value >= 5x its weight? (Add a zero, divide by 2) Yes: LootIs it an upgrade? Yes: Loot and pass the old item through the FlowchartCan I use it? Yes: LootCan I make something useful out of it? Yes: Is it an ancient Nord Weapon? Yes: STOP! You already have enough of these. How many Nord Hero weapons do you really need? No: Loot As you can see the flowchart has been through one very significant revision.
MidevalGuy
You know that old song, "Did It All for the Nookie"? Well, in Skyrim, I do it all for the Septims! ;) Kill, loot, steal, craft, enchant, trade, sell, fence, transmute, forge and every other thing to finance my life of luxury in Proudspire Manor, and Lakeview Manor, baby! Oh, yeah...
Deleted31005User
I also search every single container, sometimes finding a daedric weapon or equipment piece inside a dead draugr is very rewarding.
RatcatcherOfKvatch
Meant to say 20x its weight. 5x weight and you couldn't take 2 steps without needing a wagon.
