Bethesda launcher sunset impact on CK install/updates

With the announcement of SUNSETTING THE BETHESDA.NET LAUNCHER & MIGRATING TO STEAM I am sure that we CK users are interested to learn how we will start new installations (or even update lol & etc) the Fallout 4 Creation Kit after April 2022.

 

Will it be lost in time (like tears in the rain), published on Steam, made a standalone installer download ?

 

No info yet, this is a placeholder to start the panic :pirate:

 

Bet place for info will be the Bethesda Discord Modding general channel https://discord.gg/vKY7dW32 where the question has been asked already: "VaultOfDaedalus — Nothing I can share right now, but more specific FAQ answers will come down the line before it* sunsets"

 

(*) infer the launcher, not CK

Since the CK runs standalone without the launcher, best to just back up the exe in case of later silliness:)

anyone know which files it downloads when installing and where they go ?( example : it also downloads scripts while installing )

The CK installation files are:

 

Loose Files:

yourdrive\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\

CreationKit (application)

CreationKit (Configuration Settings)

Editor Tips

flowcharx32.dll

flowcharx64.dll

ssce5564.dll

 

Folders:

\Fallout 4\Data (LSData, Scipts, and Sound folders added by ck, rest base game)

\Fallout 4\lex

\Fallout 4\Logs

\Fallout 4\Papyrus Compiler

\Fallout 4\Tools

 

The scripts it adds are in the \Fallout 4\Data and the \Fallout 4\Logs folder.
