mizerydearia
I just installed Nexus Mod Manager and after it had been running for 5-10 minutes, I noticed a strange dialog from one of my security apps suggesting NMM attempted to capture screenshot of my desktop interface. I am not certain what for, and I have not previously installed any other apps in a windows environment that have displayed that 'feature' unexpectedly. Can someone help me to understand what the screen capture is for? The Nexus Mod Manager-0.45.6.exe installation file that I downloaded from http://dev.tesnexus.com/client/releases/latest/ is: 4,123,248 bytesmd5: f708dc309e7ffb1c874c759e02a3260dsha256: b0789c3a8036fa459ed959f7406debe723f339f1183d9bc2ba87360b02a1a5c6sha384: 7a7a4f15b40da8e28605e5c140227ca6a24c044aed144eb77734830c20576d9fd2fbc03d67fb18cbcd568a4c2f682e29sha512: 8cbf7c9514dc7dc3cd1a13154669f83e1198e9bc5e08133dadaa6554e9430a37d4bf9c4b5c44c9a34d2d5e3caa60019bdccf06319d7a9f4702242e7454b2ca34 Edited September 14, 2013 by mizerydearia
Vindekarr
The Nexus Mod manager doesn't take screenshots. I've used it since it came out-it's highly reliable, and I certainly trust it. What does immediately strike me as odd about your story is, that link 404s on every single browser I've thrown it to, and that's also not a Nexus URL. This is the actual link to the real Nexus Mod Manager: http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/content/modmanager/ Either there's a lot more to this story than what you're telling me, or you've simply typed Nexus Mod Manager into Google and downloaded the first thing that's come up-without actually checking whether or not you're actually downloading the legitimate program. I'd like to see an image of what this "NMM" looks like. I've been using it since launch and it's never done anything suspect besides some shoddy file sorting. mizerydearia
mm, I do apologize for the link. Using Mozilla Firefox v23.0.1 I right clicked on the completed downloaded file and selected "Copy Download Link." From http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/modmanager//? clicking on the green "Download Now" link (which is javascript loadBox('/ajax/downloadnmm')) or http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/ajax/downloadnmm, which contains: Preparing your file...<script>loadBox('</script>Visiting http://dev.tesnexus.com/client/releases/latest/ leads to the file. I see the link in my original post for some reason is inaccurately detected. I blocked the specific screen capture aspect of NMM and have continued using NMM, but I shall unblock it and observe to see if it occurs again. Perhaps it was a false positive. I'll be more effortful to produce some screenshots. Edited September 14, 2013 by mizerydearia
