Vortex javascript error?

I just had to reset my computer, and in doing so it wiped all the games and apps from my computer, so I am in the process of redownloading everything, but when I try to download vortex, the install seems to stop midway and if I try to open it, I get a windows notification that there is a JavaScript error

curious as to how that's related to a problem with vortex, if you can't even download it?

 

look at your pc, and make sure that you've installed windows and all its fixes. and all the .NET runtimes and such.

 

One other thought, have you got any kind of anti-virus installed? that may be "helping to protect" your pc by breaking downloads. some of the shittier anti-virus products do this and pass it off as doing you a favour.

my computer also wont let me fully delete all the files so I can try to redownload it

Try this:

 

Reboot your computer.

Download Vortex from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1?tab=files

 

Double click the downloaded file and tell us what happens.

It's common that Vortex will fail to install on fresh OS installation. Make sure you've done all required Windows Updates and try installing Vortex again.

 

The crash is often due to missing dependencies that aren't shipped with the OS but are downloaded through updates.
