horouboi
so months ago i decided to reinstall skyrim.... and mid reinstall and mod listing, the anniversary edition dropped and basically screwed my whole mod list and then everything needed updates or i had to use things to force it back to special or whatever.so basically i'm asking, has the "offical" updates for the actual game stopped? i would love to try to reinstall and play again
Moksha8088
The kinks have been worked out in the Anniversary Edition and the Creation Club updates ended some time ago. Further updates seem unlikely.
showler
That said, if a critical game-breaking bug is found, an update is still possible.

Wererommel
They keep tinkering in order to squeeze more money out of the game or testchanges in the engine for the benefit of other projects, such as the long-rumored Elder Scrolls 6. I would expect that to continue. https://www.pcgamer.com/elder-scrolls-6-what-we-know/
HazakTheMad
Then just make it not update yourself, or do only I see those pinned threads?
anjenthedog
Then just make it not update yourself, or do only I see those pinned threads?Of course, but for the unseasoned player faced with backtracking to a stable skyrim SE pre 1.6x after they've been auto-updated, or someone just getting into the game (or perhaps specifically for the AE content), that might not be desirable. For them, imo, best bet is to be apprized of those mods they *can successfully install for this version and run with it, since they likely won't be "downgrading" to 1.5.97. (1.5.97 here)
