Vortex 'sorts' my mods every launch and kills the game.

I have vortex version: 1.5.6

This query involves what happens when I use it with Mount and Blade Bannerlord. It may or may not affect any other games, it is the only one I am using it with right now.

Have 14 Mods installed.

 

My issue is that every time I launch Vortex, it has 'sorted' my load order and it gets it badly wrong to the point the game will crash at launch.
I then go back in, sort them back out and launch fine. Because I know the mods and process I know where they should be.

This happens, whether I 'lock, or unlock' them in the load order.

Locking doesnt seem to make a difference. It goes ahead and messes it up anyway. This isnt a big deal with so few mods. But it is a big drawback of vortex for me. If this were one of my big Skyrim SSE installs with a large amount of mods this would potentially kill a playthrough.

How can I get it to stop messing with my load order?. It isnt the end of the world for me right now but as I build out with more and more mods it is going to be a problem if I have to sort them out every time I launch.

There should be a toggle at the top of the load order tab. I'm not sure why it "breaks" on sort though. It is using the sort logic written by Aragasas IIRC

I dont know it was misordering them from time to time. In bannerlord it would put the Mod Configuration Menu mod in the right place from time to time. Loading after the native modules of the game instead of before.
Having said that, it has not done it since I posted.

 

I dont see a way to toggle auto sort on or off. Just a toggle to ask it to toggle. Pressing that now, it doesnt misorder them anymore.

Pretty sure there's a button on the toolbar right above the load order?

I am having an issue which is similar, also with Bannerlord. The mods wont stay in order or even locked, it unlocks most of them and jumbles them around putting them even between locked mods which makes no sense to me, that hardly seems locked.

 

I have disabled the auto sort. I have attempted to lock the mod order. I have made copies of the profile with the correct load order to paste back over so that I don't have to reorder them every time and that mixes around too when I open that profile. Am I missing something fundamental to the load order? Is crusty Bannerlord to blame? Or is this just how Vortex works now? I haven't used it on any other games in over a year so I am unfamiliar with this version.

 

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Could you guys provide the full lists of mods that are incorrectly sorted and their versions? Also, what game version is used?
