noobax
Basically, i tried editing an esm and esp at the same time by opening both and creating a new esp. However, the new esp seems to have created its own versions of the original esp with new item IDs, thus creating duplicates whenever i try to open both of them again. Is there anyway to merge the two esps' items together? If not, what should I be doing to correctly make an esp the master of another esp? Is it possible to just add it as a master using TESVEdit? myztikrice
You have to set the esp as an active file, then just save so it overwrites it.
noobax
Thing is, I want a to create a new esp that is dependant on the old esp. What you suggested is what I did, which led to the new esp creating its own version of the edited items
Treplos
An easy way to make an esp a master to a new esp you want to make: - install Wrye Bash and open it.- right click on the esp you want to set as master.- click "esmify self".- leave WB open.- create your new esp, while setting the other esp as master (I am guessing you are using TES5Edit or SK for this).- save the new esp.- go back to WB (which is still open).- right click on the esp you already set as master (it should have a blue color font now).- click "espify self" (blue color should be gone). You should be done now. Without setting the old esp as a master, the records in the newly-made will only be created as duplicates, as you already observed.
